Good point about the chant. These people are loyal fans, how about a compromise. Limit the chant to only once or twice a game, not after every good play. Personally, I'm a big fan of the simple F-A-U chant, if one must be done. One of the coolest moments I remember since football started was at the beginning of the Slippery Rock game, the whole crowd chanting FAU. I'm sorry but a rip off of a terrible song by a group called the Baja Men will never equal that.

Oh boy…you mean to tell me the WLTOO chant hasn't died a slow and painful death yet?? I got sick of that stupid, unoriginal chant last year, and I better not hear it Saturday otherwise I'm going to have to thrown stuff at somebody.

Morning, folks. I agree with someone that this chant, that chant, any chant is peripheral to the game. The simple F-A-U is good (a la the stirring U-S-A) when soccer's World Cup was played here and at the Olympics. Most anything would be better than the chants of some of the established schools (Kansas: 'Rock Chalk Jay-Hawk Go KU'; or the rival Kansas State variation – unapproved – on that one: Rock Chalk Jay-Hawk F— KU. For the record, fisticuffs often ensue.) Frankly, though – to loosely paraphrase Rhett Butler from Gone With the Wind – who gives a damn? I don't care if they chant 'Who Let the Owls Out' or even "GrayOwl (my screen name for this board) Is an Idiot," provided they buy tickets and show up at the home games. (Come to think of it, they might be right with this GrayOwl one….) Have fun guys. I wish I could be at the Louisiana-Monroe game. It's not on TV, but I'll be listening via the web, and I'll have a beer (maybe more than one) in your honor.
