FAU OC Search Thread

I saw today that UL's QB was going to transfer, if we did happen to land Brohm maybe he'd come here. If he was recruited to Louisville then he's got to at least have some talent. He could come in and compete for the starting spot in 2010.

I saw today that UL's QB who is transferring has the last name of Simms as in Phil so there's no chance (not that there was before) he'll transfer here

Are you saying that because he's got too good a pedigree to come here? Because this is what I know, he's seen very limited playing time, no one thinks he's that good and he has…get this…a terrible delivery! (just what we like in our QBs!)

If anything would be in our favor on that one it would be his dad trying to convince his son to go work under a coach that's proven to put QBs in the NFL…Phil Simms played against a bunch of HS' guys.

We don't really need any more QBs but if he's got good character, I wouldn't turn him away.

It certainly would be an interesting turn of events to have him at FAU…since Brohm recruited him, it's a possibility, if Brohm were to get an offer and we were to land him…a lot of "ifs"

I'm saying that with a famous last name, them being from Kentucky and his father being who he is and a brother already in the NFL albeit not that good he still made it. Unfortunately right now we're not going to be most people's first choice when it comes to transferring especially from a BCS school unless they are from around this area. Even with Howard as the head coach I'm sure he's mulling his options right now of where he can go. He can possibly even go to Bowling Green and maybe start, or maybe Western Kentucky. Just my 2 cents. The reality of it is in all honesty you think he's even heard of FAU?

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: FAU OC Search Thread

"Under Brohm, the Cards averaged 376.7 yards per game in total offense – their lowest since averaging 382.0 in 2001." When I read this my first thought was, if this is why they want him gone they gotta be nuts, 5.3 yards. He comes here and will have the chance to continue to build under Howard and I believe he'll pass 382.0 per game.

Re: FAU OC Search Thread

;) probably not, but he's not too good to come to FAU that's for sure.

If he's hooked on Brohm as a recruiter and coach, and IF Brohm were to end up at FAU, it could happen.

I'm not delusional though, I don't think any of that is gonna happen, but this is the only interesting topic on the forum right now. I can't do the Howard lovefest, argue the merits of Boca over Troy or have a football team jewelry discussion. I'd much rather have completely speculative conversations about football  ;D

You take a quarterback in every recruiting class, we ended up taking two last year because the other two transferred or quit the team.

haha I hear ya. Hey it's possible, nothing is out of the realm of possibility. Who'd have though 8 years ago we'd be talking about how we just won our 2nd bowl game back to back. So things can happen that we all don't expect. Just not counting on it. If I had to guess as to who the new OC would be, I think it'll be someone in house. They already know not to expect a lot of money and they don't have to learn a new system or worry about getting along with the coach

What other two? Eli Cranor and the other guy?

The other one was Tim Moscato in the 2007 recruiting class.

Re: FAU OC Search Thread

It may have been settled and we don't know about it. Who knows.

Remember all contracts have to be approved by the BOT and the next BOT meeting is Jan. 21
