in the smaller conferences I don't think being on the road is such a disadvantage like it is in the SEC so it shouldn't count for so much

Let them keep predicting losing seasons for us.  There is zero effort that goes into a pre season report on FAU so I'm not surprised at the prediction.  I'd rather fly under the radar and win suprise games anyway.  I don't think we're ready to take down an SEC team just yet, but I think we can beat USF this year.

I think it's less complicated than that. They don't spend that kind of time with Sunbelt teams. They see a 3-9 team and look at the schedule.
We graduated some really good players after the Motor City Bowl and were still predicted to win the SBC the next year. Instead we crashed and burned. That shows the guys that make these predictions don't look at the lower tier conferences very hard. So what if they get it wrong? A team predicted to finish #92 ends up finishing #110 in D1. Do you think it really matters to them?

Crazier things have happened

Have to agree with Pike and Hootin. Do I think we're winning 8 games? No. More like 5 or 6. Can we win 8 games? Of course. Anything is possible. We're not there yet. We likely won't beat, UM USF or Auburn. The CUSA schedule is a toss up because a majority of these teams have never played against us and vice versa so anything is possible with the CUSA schedule
