FAU's Smith says he played with separated shoulder

You guys think repeating as Sun Belt champs (with a team is returning the majority of their starters from a team that won it last year) is setting our goal too high??!!

That's crazy….this team has been a big disappointment. I'll still be at all the games like very year, but always wondering what could have been……

I dont' think the sun belt title was too high a goal, and I don't think many of the grounded folks on this board would disagree HOWEVER there are a lot of people out there that were expecting 11-1 and a BCS buster season…those are the unrealistic expectations he's talking about.

Just to defend our QB and show that a shoulder injury can seriously effect your ability:

2002 season
Tom Brady and the Patriots finished the year at 9–7, tied with the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins for the best record in the division. However, the Jets won the division on the third tiebreaker, and the Patriots missed the playoffs.

Although posting a career-low single-season rating of 85.7, Brady threw for a league-leading 28 touchdown passes and 3,764 yards, though his 14 interceptions would turn out to be a career high.[11] However, Brady played much of the second half of the season with a shoulder injury, and New England head coach Bill Belichick has since indicated that if the Patriots had made the playoffs, Brady would not have been able to play in the first game due to that injury.
