Can't have 100 people show up. Need 55 people - 55 names. It's not a chartered flight. It's a commercial flight and they are being treated as regularly ticketed passangers.
SOLD OUT by the way. Mike just told me.
Smitty,
Just wondering but where did they announce this? To what group on Facebook? Thanks.

The trip was announced on Facebook and through MyFAU.
AGAIN, I am no longer a student nor do I live at or near FAU anymore. But I found out the information by being nosey and poking around.

Student Government should post the fares for Spirit Air and give those students that use that a deal with hotel accommodations. Id be nice to have ~500 students at the game and that can be achieved if we fill up a couple of spirit flights plus the relatively cheap other companies.

Re: FAU Student Government announces trip to Austin
The flight they are taking is probably around $200 and they are flying in to Austin.
Hotel room is $160 a night/4 = $40 per person x 3 nights = $120
Game ticket = $65
So without transportation (which SG chartered a bus), and without tailgate or without food, it's already $400 a person.
Spirit does have $8 fares, but you have to pay $20 per bag, $10 per seat and after closer review, the flights into San Antonio are two days before the trip and the flight out is 5 days after game.
But then we can discuss getting an $8 fare one way and $89 another.
Either way….I think we should all be very pleased that FAU SG stepped up and put something together. And while it may be good for them to post additional options for students to look in to, that's basically what we are doing on this forum anyway.
