I think the NCAA ruling about avg 15,000 is a wrong amount that is used, does the NCAA feel that the above mentioned fans would mean a positive bottomline dollar wise, I dont get it, if you have a stadium that sits 20,000 and you put 12,000 plus fans in there to start to me this is a good foundation to start from, soon everyone would realize that FAU is a D1A football program and they will come. Right now it is next to impossible to get cheap tickets to see Miami, Fla St, florida, play let alone good seats, so I feel the next choice would be is to see FAU, USF, UCF play, also if there more students staying & residing at FAU there would also be more attandance, I'll give you an example, a school like Penn St., there freshman class is not allowed to bring a car to penn St until there Soph year, so what do these kids do, go and watch every home game at Penn St. If FAU did the same you would be able to fill Pro Player stadium, it's a fact most major colleges do not let freshman have a car there first year in school, which means more attendance at football games, basketball & baseball games.

That ruling really came about to weed out the teams who don't bring fans dollars to the table. It has nothing to do with on-field talent.

The BCS keeps trying to weed out teams but then they go and create a couple of more bowl games !!! ???

you are right about the bowl games, some of which I have never heard of before, every college wants a cut of the pie, I think the minimum bowl pay out is about $300,000. and thats for a no name bowl whose teams are usually a poultry 6 & 5 record. FAU will get theirr turn, hopefully in the next 2 to 3 years.

FAU would have a difficult time prohibiting freshman from bringing cars to school. Unlike your example of Penn State, or even FSU and UF, FAU is not a true college town. Kids need cars to go to the store, to go to work etc. Mass transit in Boca is horrible and its too hot 11 months out of the year to bike from campus to town center.

On another note, I was plesantly surprised by the attendance on saturday. The student section was crazy as was the parking lot. I attended every game last year and never had to park out as far as i did on saturday…..and i arrived at 2pm.

Awsome glad to hear it.. we would have easily hit 15,000 if everyone went into the gates... Even if the went in and then went back out to there party that would have put us over... If you guys see anyone tell them just to go in, get there ticket stub torn off and will be all set.

Welcome to the board Baller07.
bcmatzen is right about coming inside. Remind the students that their tickets/passes has to be validated by entering the gates.
It was a decent crowd. It is a start for the rest of the home games.

Parking: I lucked up. I got inside the fenced area by the baseball stadium 8-)
