Re: FAU - Troy TV?

hey guys, im not trying to be negative here, or even discourage what you are doing…but i did want to mention that ESPN has absolutely nothing to do with this game…the production rights are owned by CSS in its entirety - which it is normally the other way around…ESPN is normally the producer and CS just pays a fee to "link-up"…dont think there is many options to reverse that at this point…and doubt that ESPN would agree air something they dont have producer's authority over…

just an fyi and some thoughts…Hope im wrong!

Re: FAU - Troy TV?

Just in case you are wrong.. a few people on the Troy board have emailed them as well. If we bombard them with requests to pick up this game who knows maybe it will work

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Florida owl

Every crowd needs a voice of reason.  I know it was posted earlier that it is strictly a CSS broadcast, but it's worth a shot, even if it does not happen for tomorrow, maybe nextime ESPN will think "man, those SBC fans really want their football" and give us a few more games to watch.  I still can't believe that this is our biggest game, and I won't get to watch it, I'm gonna pay my money and watch Delaware take on Northern Iowa, that will be much better than a championship game anyway ha ha

Re: FAU - Troy TV?

I agree that the chances are far from good. TV coverage, like most things TV, is all about money. If a network thinks it can make an acceptable return (through pay-per-view, sponsorships, whatever), it can get things done. But if it doesn't see the dollar signs, it won't bother.

It does seem odd that in the final week of ESPN GamePlan, it has satisfied itself by serving up only the Division I-AA (what's the new name?) quarterfinals. Meanwhile, a Division I-A conference championship game most likely is available, and probably for not a lot of money. Go figure.

If nothing else, they'll remember all the emails they got from FAU last time they didn't get "rights" or whatever it is for their game.

I sent one as well, maybe next year they will remember. Too late this year I would imagine.

For those who arent going to see it, I hope Bytor will have the chat up. Was fun to be in there for the FIU game.

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

Re: FAU - Troy TV?

Guys the culprit here is college basketball.  There are only six channels available to ESPN payperview.  Since Several games are on ESPN's Full Court pay-per-view package that takes away from any football coverage.  There are at least three games that I can see(and there may be a fourth)on Full-court during the time of our game.
Also ESPN has a contract where they have to make the 1-AA Quarterfinals available on Gameplan-so even if you think those games may be boring thats why they show them.
Wofford was even told they had to play their playoff game at 7pm instead of the 1pm they wanted to because they only have two channels for ESPN Gameplan saturday and they couldnt have three playoff games at the same time.
Sorry to say a million people could email them but there is nothing ESPN can do about it now due to their baketball commitments.
