FAU vs. Illinois State

Here's a question: Will Allen finish the game under center? It's been what three games that Allen hardly played in the 4th quarter.

Speaking with his father after the last game, dad isn't too sad about that either! The poor kid was running for his life. :)

I think he'll play through if he have the O-Lone protection. Coach probably don't want to see him get hurt and hurt his chances at any future Sunday paydays.

Their star LB is out for this game. Season ending surgery. I posted it in the ISU website/message board listed above.

That's too bad for him.

Really, I knew he was banged up a few weeks ago. He had torn knee cartilage but still played. Looks like the coaches decided that the season was over so they would send him off for surgery instead of jeopardizing his future. He played SIU with the torn cartilage while their number one back was out with the same injury. Any news on his condition?

An intersting fact, Boomer Grigsby led the conference in tackles the last two years with 179 total tackles. This year his numbers were down to 129 (still 12.9 per game). They have another very good linebacker who is making plays and averaging 8 tackles per game. He will have to step up this week to fill the void.

Looks the FAU will get a break not only on the run game but also on the pass rush. It will be interesting to see what happens. GO OWLS!!!

Check out Grigsby's career awards on the ISU web page. The list of honors is ridiculous. Two time All-American according to virtually every publication. This year should be no different. He has had a huge career. FAU will be happy to know that he isn't playing. ;D

Hey, I don't recall opposing teams feelling bad for us when we had 5 offensive players out - they just licked their chops and brought the dogs out.

Exactly, we should do the same. His leadership might be missed even more than what he brings physically to the game. Also, just knowing that he isn't out there can deplete the confidence of the defense. We should take it right to the heart of the defense and try running early and often. It might just work. GO OWLS!!!

I agree his leadership and play making abilities will be missed on the field and hopefully Doug can take advantage and have himself a nice day.

As much as I would love for us to throw the ball up and down the field on Sat. - we first need to establish confidence in our offense again.

We need to run the ball and run it effectively, it should open up the passing game for those big play down field, if that happens then the points will be there.

Defensively, we have nothing to lose, but be aggressive, relentless and be around the ball with hard hits all a round
