Well… tonight's game against Minnesota was a knockdown 46-7 Loss and we were 31-point underdogs going into the game BUT hey… we did win the 2nd half 7-6 when the other team's secondary were playing!

In any case, FAU is going to get a taste of our ACTUAL Conference play this upcoming week on Thursday at LOCKHART!! We play Louisiana-Monroe who lost tonight 44-7 to No. 7 Georgia as 38.5-point underdogs.

FAU for the first time this season will be favored in a game with LA-Monroe being ranked at about 116 and FAU ranking about 109. I predict FAU to score its first win and the score will be 30-21…

I agree. Not much worth watching last night from the Owls. I knew the game was going to be a blowout after seeing what Minnesota was able to do against some more established teams like Tulsa and Colorado State. I only wished that they could have been a little more competitive. I guess it better shows us where we are in our development this season. We can compete against lower D-IA schools pretty well, but not even close to the top 50 or 60 programs. A lot of the problems we had tonight will only get better over time. We obviously didn't match up at all up front. Most of the game it seemed as if we were playing without a defensive line.

The bad news is we are in store for one more of these games in a few weeks against Louisville.

The good news is we finally get into conference play this week, and start off with a very winnable game. I think this group can compete very well in the Sun Belt this season. I can't wait for Thursday night. I hope we can get a big crowd out to Lockhart to watch the Owls (hopefully) get their first win on the year!

Don't forget, UNT lost their first 4 games and won the next seven. They got blown out by Texas 65- something. Then they got embarrased by a transitional D-1AA team that was in its fourth year of existance. UNT went on to win the Sunbelt.

I am not discouraged. All the sports writers wrote this season off for FAU from the very beginning.

I think they'll win a few games this year but we all knew a long time ago this was going to be one of those seasons.
