Perception is reality…

Perception is not reality. Bertrand Russell, for instance, wrote in great length about this.

Sorry to tell you this, but your boy Bertrand Russell was not right about everything…As I am sure his 4 marriages will attest to…

Okay. Marriages aside, he was right about perception.

Do you think the basis for his "Theory on Perception" stemmed from his 4 marriages?…

Re: Fearless predictions FAU @ Kentucky

Perhaps I should come in from the cold up here in the mountains. Or the thin air has affected me adversely. But after watching the Owls at Oklahoma State and North Texas, and at home versus Minnesota, I see FAU 33 Kentucky 30. That's three TDs and four FGs for the Owls, and three TDs and three FGs for the 'Cats. Two INTs for the Owls. I'm counting on a great speech from the Coach, inspiring words from the other coaches and the players' desire to win a big one for Kentucky's Hall-of-Famer – as well as for themselves. Injuries? It's a shame for those young guys, when a college career is so short anyway. But it's step-up time.

The difference between FAU and Oklahoma State was not nearly as big as the score, the difference between FAU and Minnesota was bigger than the score and the difference between FAU and North Texas was closed somewhat by the Mean Green's bye the previous Saturday and its extra week or preparation. I did not see the Middle Tennessee game, but I listened to Dave LaMont's call via the internet. My assessment there was that FAU was stronger than the score indicated, at least on that Saturday.

However, if the Owls have one of their disastrous starts, as in the Kansas State game a couple of years ago or the Oklahoma State game this year, things could get ugly in a hurry.  ESPN Game Plan will make it clear before long….

Re: Fearless predictions FAU @ Kentucky

Here is some interesting analysis based on statistics (provided from the Kentucky area) of the up coming game:

Except for the part that states we are coming off a loss at OK State, it has some credibility.

Re: Fearless predictions FAU @ Kentucky

good article…pretty objective as well…

i like this statement:

"This team has a winning record, a seasoned and excellent coach, and if Kentucky comes in swell-headed, FAU is certainly capable of bursting the Wildcat's bubble."

Re: Fearless predictions FAU @ Kentucky

i'm not really great with scores, i'm guessing it will be somewhat close and i think in order for FAU to win we'd have to put together a perfect game. minimum penalties, defense like the second half last week, and offense like minnesota. then i'd say we have a chance to hang with anyone. this game isnt on CSS right? i work till 9 and i know Duffys will be stupid packed by the time i get out to watch it..anywhere else to see it?

I just wanted to welcome myself to the board.

As a Gator fan as well as an Owl fan I wanted to give you guys some information on Kentucky.  Kentucky is a good team, but they are not that good.  The problem with Kentucky is that they play up and down, in other words they are very inconsistant.  With UK being hurt a bit, I see no reason why FAU can't make this a four quarter game and steal one on the road.  The bottom line is that FAU is 2-0 in the Sunbelt conference and they have nothing to lose in this game.  Should be a great game.  I also wanted to say that I went to school with Chris Bonner and Willie Rose.  See you guys around.

Sorry Gator fan.  They are not nearly as inconsistent as they used to be.

Ole' Miss anyone?

Will be a good game.

49-24 Cats.
