Fearless predictions FAU @ Kentucky

Theis has been a crazy week for me and didn't have a chace to do my usual post game thoughts, so I will do a break down now:

On offense we do look very similar, both Rusty & Woodson have similar numbers with the biggest difference in the completion ratio and Woodson is pretty solid at 64% to Rusty 54% and the amount of points they rack-up; thats 50,56,40 & 42 in order - that is 188 point in four games to 105 for the Owls, our only hick-up on offense being the Ok. St game where we only had two fields goals (could have been two more) which really doesn't make much difference.

We need to have a good start to stay in this game and play solid for 60 minutes if we want to give ourselves a chance to win.  This has been a problem for the Owls, even going back to FanFest.  Could this be the day the thread is reversed, let's hope so - because if we want to be contenders for a SB Title we will need to learn to play for 60 minutes.

Can the Owls keep the Kentucky offense off the field, which can only happen if we can run the ball effecively and control the clock and be able to substain drives which in turn will help the defense stay fresh.  I expect Kentucky to score their minimum of 40 points today and will come down to can the Owls score 40 or more - ours highest output so far is 42 againts the Gophers.  Turnovers will be key in this game as well, if we have any shot at a victory we need to win this battle, which has been a BIG contributor in our wins so far this season.  This is an interesting match-up and the Owls defense should be well verse in the type of offense they will be facing with the Cats.  Will it be possible for the defense to keep the Cats to less then 40 points, which might prove to be a key to this game.

The Cats are swimming in uncharttered territories, will they be able to substain their current success and highest ranking in a long time and over look the Owls.  All we need is for the Cats to come out a bit Flat and catch a few breaks a long the way and we will have our chances.

The Owls do go into this game with a lot of confidence and for once, head into an OC game with a different attitude because of the Minn. victory and shoul allow them to be much more competitive in this game.  However, the Cats are also beaming with a ton of confidence with the best preformance for them in a long while - will they overlook the Owls??

Love my Owls and I am just being objective here:  UK 42 FAU 34

Re: Fearless predictions FAU @ Kentucky

Although I believe UK will win today, I always have a glimmer of hope that we can pull one off. We have to have a solid Defensive effort against the run, to be able to stay close. On Offense, we have to make the most of our opportunities, & limit the number of dropped passes. With that said, Bonner has to play his best today, because he hasn't been a pillar of confidence, when it comes to catching the ball. If I'm correct, he may be the leader in drops this year. Harmon creates mismatches at TE, because of his speed, & Rusty should look for him.

My HOPEFUL prediction:

FAU 34
UK  30

Go Owls!!!!

Re: Fearless predictions FAU @ Kentucky

Only because of a late INT for a TD by the backup QB…..some shady things  going on there  ;)

Just kidding……really wish we can keep one of these games against BCS teams on the road close one of these days. Still looking forward to facing USF at home. We saw what happened last time we got pummeled on the road.
