FIRE CARL PELINI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post

consistantly losing close games/winnable games is a reflection of the coaches. They don't play, but they control how the game is played and the decisions before, during, and after the game. Coaches put players in positions to succeed or fail. The two costly mistakes the QB made is because the coach put him in a situation to fail. We had the lead on both turnovers and decided to pass instead of running the ball, punt if neccessary and play great defense.

I hardly see how Pelini put Hankerson in a position to fail when he fumbles a ball for a defensive TD when he wasn't hit on the play.  That's just playing the result.  They were up 8 with 6 minutes to play and the QB made a bad play.  Sorry, but that is not on the coaching staff.  If he scrambles for a few yards or throws the ball away, you wouldn't be saying he was put in a bad position by the coaches.

And I agree with OC40…Pelini's job is not to just make the team better than it was 2 years ago.  BUT he's only been in charge for less than 2 seasons.  You need to give the staff time to turn around what was the worst team in FBS around when he took over.  There was no quick fix here.  The talent base was extremely low and Pelini's only had 2 recruiting classes.  Ultimately, he's going to be judged on how much he wins, but I don't think it is fair to judge him strictly by wins and losses just yet.  The team is getting better and I have a feeling that we will all start seeing better results during the 2nd half of the season.

If Pelini's coaching record for his first 5 years at FAU was the above records, would this be acceptable?

I am a business man . My only concern is my kids getting a good education. I am also a sports fan . Baseball is my sport of choice. Although I would love to see the football team win, I could care less who our coaches play at certain positions. If the team is not successful, the bottom line is the bosses are responsible. The bosses are position coaches, head coach, A.D. I support the teams ,enjoy going with my friends, but will never lower myself to call people names in public. It's fine to disagree. Explain why you disagree in an educated manner and move on. But remember, no matter how loud or how often you state your opinion, you probably will never change the other persons opinion. Let me make one point , FAU is getting better. We are better than 2 years ago. But, we are still not very good. Don't be so surprised when we lose.

I would take that. I think two seasons in a row with a losing record is the point where we start to question what is going on. That said, the exception is the first two seasons. Pelini is still safe with a 4-8 record this year, but he has to win in year three.

+100!  My point exactly, and I agree with the first two seasons.  If we are going through this next year, I will have a completely different opinion.  I still see 6 wins possible, but my prediction is 4 to 6 would be a good season….by the way those records were George O'Leary's at UCF's….I would be very happy to be where they are after 10 years of Pelini.

And then went 4-8 the following year. Per your logic, he wouldn't be UCF's coach presently. I love your enthusiasm but you need to give coach a break. We understand he isn't winning but you have to admit the team is much improved. I truly believe quality wins will come next year and if they don't I'll be joining your bandwagon.
