First Day of the Season 10/13

First Day of the Season 10/13

The way I look at this season today is really the first day of it. The BCS games and AA game are behind us. Yeah we beat Monroe but they suck anyway.

The next three weeks are going to be the true test and measuring stick to see how far we've come. Lafayette, the preseason favorite, Arkansas and MTSU who are both undefeated. The next three games will make or break the season. Each game should be focused on individually from a players prospective but from our gander we will truely test our readiness for the league over the next three. Starting with Lafayette.

Troy, N Texas and our boys from the south seasons are over.

This Wednesday will be the first true test to see if the nonconference schedule was worth it. I hope to see a packed stadium. Over 16K standing and cheering and maybe, just maybe the East end zone will look like the West end zone for a change.

First Day of the Season 10/13

I agree with these next three games being our toughest, but how exactly are Troy's and North Texas' seasons over? Troy hasn't played a conference game yet and UNT is only 1-1! So how do you come to the conclusion that they're done? And a packed stadium for Wed…..that's the best joke I've heard in a while. We'll be lucky to get 12k….especially with the MLB playoffs that night. It would be the ALCS game seven, so hopefully that series won't get that far, but I'm pretty positive the NLCS will go to game six, which is scheduled for that afternoon. Plus, the game being on tv will keep a bunch of people away. Of course we all hope to see a packed stadium, but we need to be realistic here.

First Day of the Season 10/13

I think we'll definately get over 10,000…12K actually in the stadium would be great for Wednesday, but I hardly think that the MLB Playoffs would have much of an effect on our attendance. Being on TV will keep some away, but I think it will draw more students out to the game. Hopefully the weather(during the day) is better and we should get our best non-playoff game crowd ever at Lockhart.

First Day of the Season 10/13

I think that the defeat of UL-M was quite important because FAU was coming off of four tough losses and hadn't beaten the Indians/Warhwawks before in two tries. I am concerned about every Sun Belt opponent, and I am anxious to see how FAU matches up. I am hopeful that FAU will not underestimate any of the remaining opponents. It was encouraging to hear (I listened to the game via the All-Access pass) the team come out ready to play last night. Obviously, FAU did not underestimate SUU. GO OWLS - BEAT UL-L!

First Day of the Season 10/13

Troy will likely be 1-0 in the 'Belt after Saturday vs. Monroe. The top predicted SunBelt teams have to go through Troy.

North Texas has a knack for coming back.

I'd love to see Troy and FAU undefeated in the conference when they meet. That would be good for attendance.

your right about troy, didn't realize that. the ALCS? won't be a problem, the tigers are sweeping as we type. There's more of a worry about the first game of the World Series if the Mets sweep.

First Day of the Season 10/13

The next three weeks really sets up for a very interesting race in the SBC and this is what being in a conference is about. The pressure to preform at the top of your game every week, faltering in one game could make a difference to having successful season or a bad season. Confenrence play should be a dog fight every week and the SBC conference look to be developing into just that - makes for great football every time we step on the gridiron.
