FIU: Get ready for probation

Now is the time to start marketing for the FIU game (as well). Would be nice to have FIU worrying about being outnumbered at the Orange Bowl, just as FAU was at Lockhart vs. South Florida….that really needs to be a strong FAU effort to set up momentum for Troy the following week.

Were you guys really outnumbered?  It looked like a pretty even split with maybe a slight edge to FAU on TV.
Either way you guys played a great game.  Oh how I would love to have Howard back at the Ville, especially this year.

About 55-60% of the fans there were FAU fans. We were not outnumbered, but we might have been if our stadium could seat more people. There were about 20% more FAU fans than usual.

Saw this on the Sunbelt forum.

ERROR: A link was posted here (url) but it appears to be a broken link.

http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7008763459

It discusses the possible punishment along with time table, if it's true that looks like it will be a huge blow.

"an infraction report from Aug. 25, 2005 showed that FIU broke NCAA rules," and as a result, FIU "is now subject to penalties under repeat violators, which may include the prohibition of some or all outside competition in the sport involved for one or two sports seasons."

Some may not remember and some may not know, FIU is currently under probation for having practices outside of the allowed time frame for practices.  What this probably means is the players were practicing and a coach was watching.  Non the less, further violations while on probation could be serious.

From all positions on the field, I saw the mix as around 60 percent FAU fans (maybe higher beause pretty much all of their fans were in green and FAU fans were in red, blue or nothing) and 40 percent USF fans.
