FOOTBALL TALK!!!!! Flex 52 defense.

Terminology may be different to some. It's a combination of the 43 but mostly a 52.

What are your thoughts on running this with Shomari Earls at the WILL position? You have Laz at Middle and Higgins at the SAM slot.
Earls will make a name for himself this year at LB filling in for Swain. This guy is good!

You know a lot of people thought that LT(Lawrence Taylor)played DE for the Giants! He got there so quick they forgot he was actually a LB.

Time for some football talk folks. Saturday is right around the corner. ;D

ahhhhh. more talk.
all game? if the 52 guy misses then the TE can walk 20 yards downfield before any contact.

I always liked it when we were aggressive on defense, this may not be a bad idea considering we do have good team speed on defense. With Earls & Higgins it may just be effective enough to cause alittle havoc among the opposing offenses. Relentless & pressuring defense can wear an offense down & disrupt any continuity they may have - once they lose confidence it all over baby. ;D

We need to find a way to get pressure on the QB period, the coaches know we are under size on the line, so this could very well be a great option.

I like the idea of an occassional showing of the defensive set. Like you said it will keep the offense off balance.

ISight,
The LB has to get there real quick. But the SS better be ready at the line too. If you show it from the weak side the QB will either flush strong side or throw back weak side.
Right to middle LB Laz himself!!!

Shouldn't this be kept for the run and option-orientated teams we face??

True. Maybe a few 2nd and short yardage situations. But it also helps to employ it in some typical 1st down situations.
The element of suprise.
