Great looking stadium, If we ever play you guys again in the future, I would pencil this game as an away game to attend, just to get a look at your new digs.

Congras on your stadium and looking to our game in Sept.

Here is an article from today's Sun Sentinel about the Owls playing at Lockhart next year. Sounds good for playing on campus next year though….
FAU's stadium hopes on hold

Owls to stay at Lockhart in '07

Florida Atlantic University's plans to build a temporary football stadium on its Boca Raton campus have been put on hold, meaning the Owls will play in Fort Lauderdale's Lockhart Stadium again this season.

FAU had been hoping to move onto its main campus this fall by constructing a stadium at the refurbished track complex, but Athletic Director Craig Angelos said it could not be completed in time.

"We couldn't make it happen this year. We'll still be trying for something in 2008, and we definitely need to be ready to move in 2009," Angelos said.

Lockhart Stadium could be razed sometime in late 2008, after the Baltimore Orioles take control of the facility from the city of Fort Lauderdale.

FAU has been playing in Lockhart since 2003, after using Dolphin Stadium in 2001 and 2002.

Angelos said plans for a permanent stadium on the Boca Raton campus are progressing, with the facility expected to open in time for the 2010 season.

FAULK SIGNED

Former FAU offensive lineman Nello Faulk was signed as an undrafted free agent by Jacksonville and will attend the Jaguars' minicamp that begins Saturday. Faulk was a four-year starter for FAU.

Hutton's Blog:

"One plan out there is to build the temporary stadium not at the track, but at the site of the permanent stadium. Then the infrastructure (playing field, water and power lines, etc.) could be used for both facilities, and the cost better justified."

i like this better…it shows more committment and stakes a claim…….

and further solidification of the 2010 timeline (at the latest):

"The Suit did say plans for the permanent stadium, scheduled to open in time for the 2010 season, are on schedule."

Michigan State at home, 2010 Season Opener…New Stadium…and a myriad of better recruits sign to be a part of it in 2008, and 2009…in the end, the Spartans cry all the way home because of this Sun Sentinel Sports Page Headline the next day:

"2010 Owls take hold of New Stadium; 30K fans attend as FAU claws Spartans 24-14

Associated Press - Boca Raton"
