8-) Some observations about yesterday.

Great crowd despite the lack of numbers. Our fans were in it, and you could tell by the reaction of our players on the field. We were able to make some noise!

Our boys played their hearts out: T. Polo, Willie Rose, Cerge Sincere, and Charles Pierre. Rusty looked PHENOMENAL! They left it all on the field.

Polo was everywhere- a real ballhawk knocking the crap out out of the Minnie players.

Rose turned what could have been a busted play into a first down close to the goal by shear guts and determination. He literally ripped through Minnie tacklers.

Pierre caught a short pass and broke tackles then took a mammoth hit (his helmet went flying!) in the 2nd half. It was a key play because it kept the FAU drive alive when we needed it to.

Harmon is a stud- made great catches in traffic and took some big hits.

Big Red was impressive. The one TD pass in the 1st half (I think to Harmon?) he sold the DB's by looking to his right. He really can do all the little things well that can make a big difference.

Props to the O-line! Rusty had great protection most of the day. I think the 1 or 2 sacks might have been due to the heat.

Our offense has proved it has the athleticism to make quick strikes. You gotta love that!

A word about special teams- they did get better as the game progressed. I hate to say it but alot of lame arm tackling in the first half. Later in the game they seemed more willing to get their body into it. That guy from Minnie was big.

A word on "The Voice" - How can you not love this guy? All through the game he sort of stands back and lets his assistants take the lead as far as communicating plays etc. Then late in the 4th he calls our boys over for a chat, just checking in, regrouping. Its like he's trying to contain himself. I appreciate that he can delegate his responsibilities and develope his coaches, but make no mistake the fire still burns in his belly. The old man is back, and we are definitely lucky to have him!

Great game for those of you that couldn't make it. Highlights can't do it justice. Our boys took some major hits out there and just shook it off and kept moving the ball. Can't wait until USF.

GO OWLS!!!

The most impressive part of the game?...Coach on the sidelines in a sport jacket. I am really starting to wonder if coach is an old school type of guy or actually just a crazy lunatic. It was way to hot for long pants let alone a sport jacket. God bless coach...the guy is great...nuts...but great!!!

I just read the on-line about our game and looked at FIU and It looks like MC is going with the styling and profiling look. Tie and long sleeve so you can add another one to list of tie wearing coach's.

He was sweating thru his shirt 5 minutes into the game. It looked like he had been given a Gatorade bath. The commentators made I don't know how many references to him sweating and the fact that the shirt was ruined.

Still a nice look though.

GO OWLS!!!

Apologies to DiIvory Edgecomb. Just saw the pics on FAU's photo gallery. It was Edgecomb who took that monster hit. Regardless, Pierre, and Lester Jean so many had great games. Glad we found our offense!
