The big boys now follow the old Spurrier routine of playing weak 1A teams or 1-AA teams in order to ensure an undefeated record going into conference play. I don't like it but it is a good strategy if a team wants the best possible shot at going undeafeted and making it to the national championship. Personally, I like teams that are willing to take risks and play the best in order to be the best. GO OWLS!!!

Jim Howell's site for prelim 2006 schedules has added an early game for FIU: FIU at South Florida on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006. That gives the Golden Panthers away games at South Florida and Alabama, plus the Sun Belt schedule, plus a couple of games yet to be listed.

I woulkd love to see us with Miami and FSU or even Florida in the near future. USF would be good but if that can't happen then maybe go after UCF in a 2 year deal.

The coaching staff would love to be able to play all the Florida schools on a yearly basis ( Florida, FSU, Miami, UCF & USF ). Having that 12th game would make this possible, but I don't forsee this happening even if we could pull it off for one season, it would one heck of an accomplishment.

Your probably right. Though Bowden and Schnelly would probably be the most logical. these guys have the utmost respect each other and both would capitalize on the instate promo's.

Let's start by playing (and dominating UCF and USF), then in a few years take on the "Big Three". I wouldn't mind being officially considered the 4th best team in the state. 8-)

I went to both of those games and I am suprised that Jared Allen even survived the USF game, we need some redemption. And even though no one stuck around at the end of the UCF game we certainly scared them. I feel that we would have a great chance of beating both of those teams right now.
On the other hand, FSU, UF and UM would murder us.

This year they would murder us.. I think if we played UF last year we would have held our own.
