Game Week: FAU vs ASU

Game Week: FAU vs ASU

Figured I would start the conversation going about our next opponent.

The Red Wolves will have a much better defense then the Cajun's and will be more stingy against the run, something we have relied on to turn things around on offense.

The Wolves feature a pretty good runner in Reggie Arnold (a Junior) who needs 128 yards to become the 4th player in ASU history to rush for 3,000 yards in a career (2,872yds). He has topped 1,000 yards in each of his first two season - he currently sits at 740 yards for the '08 season (9 out of 12 games).  His teammates are destine to help reach the 1,000 yard plateau.

Much like the Ragin' Cajuns - the Red Wolves offense is pretty much centered on two individuals, Arnold & QB Landcaster (suspended from last game) and not sure if he is going to play on Sat.  This could be a huge benefit for the Owls if Landcaster is a no go.

Last year Arnold was kept in check for the most part, only gaining 58 yards (2TDs). in an Owl 34-32 victory.

Why was their QB suspended?

Re: Game Week: FAU vs ASU

Corey Leonard is their QB, and I see no signs of suspension???

• WR Kevin Jones, DB Leroy Trahan and OL Kiano Prater did not make the trip to FIU. They were arrested following an election-night fight at a local apartment complex.

• RB Preston Brown is suspended for the 2008 season after being arrested on burglary and theft charges.

• DB Marlon Douglas is suspended for the 2008 season.

:P

I feel like an idiot right now.

Got my notes mixed-up - ULM QB Landcaster is the one that has been suspended not Leonard from ASU.

Trying to do too much in these early hours before heading to work  :-[

Sorry for the confusion.  My bad.

Re: Game Week: FAU vs ASU

Any one else concerned the cold weather may be a factor for our guys. Game should start off in low 40's and dip into the low 30's.  Since basically our team is entirely made up of Fl boys who rarely if ever have felt what 30 degrees feels like this could play a role.  I can tell you from personal experience playing games when the temperature is around freezing is nothing like playing in normal temps.  You start to lose concentration on what you should be focusing on and think about getting warm. When playing in freezing conditions any exposed skin starts to hurt.  Guys will most likely be wearing gloves that normally dont and your muscles just dont seem to loosen up like they usually do.  The situation reminds me of the Tampa Bay Bucs a few years ago when they were in their hay days and they could beat anyone in the world unless the temp was under 50 degrees.

Re: Game Week: FAU vs ASU

you are right about playing in the cold, but it won't be that cold.

high is 49, winds 5-10, and since kickoff is at 2, should be about the high.
Temps don't drop until 4-5, sundown, they may get to 40 near the end, so they should be okay.

Re: Game Week: FAU vs ASU

hopefully you read the right weather report then.  I read this morning somewhere that they expected it to be mid to low 40's round game time then dippin in the mid to low 30's, i think there is some front moving thru so it may have changed a bit hopefully you're right but thats still damn cold for some FL boys.
