Gary Nord hired as Purdue's Offensive Coordinator

The thing that makes me nervous about all of this is…..If Coach Nord felt like we were going to get an on-campus stadium and grow the football program and he would be the next logical predecessor….why would he leave?  Does he not believe this program is going where we all hope it is?
Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

Awaiting an official statement from HS…when it arrives will post…

But rest assured, it will not be a lamenting remark…

We will have a solid new OC to replace Nord…and the system will stay the same…as long as Howard is here, that will not change…

I think there are too many variables for us to be guessing. Let's wait until he voices his reasons so we don't just end up speculating wildly.

Nord and Hope worked together from 1985 to 1995.

"I am extremely excited to be joining the coaching staff at Purdue," Nord said. "It's a great place and a great opportunity. I have worked with coach Hope for a number of years in the past, and I know how he operates and wants things done. I have been able to coach in a number of different conferences during my career, but this is my first time in the Big Ten. I'm really looking forward to the opportunity."

Would Sylvester Croom want to move to South Florida?  :o  Just resigned from Miss St.  Offensive background.  Not spreading any rumors here.  Just wondering if that would be a fit at this point in his career.  He may have bigger thoughts.

What concerns me is that he must have been talking about this with the Purdue coach during FAU's season. :(

Croom would know Howard would be stepping down in a few.  New stadium.  New excitement.  Less pressure.  Great weather.  Never know what may attract someone.

I believe Croom would be a horrible fit. In his 5 year stint at Miss St.  his offense never ranked in the top 100. Against Ole Miss they had 39 total yards for the game. Let him be someone else's mistake. I say hire some fresh talent with communication skills and a personality. I'm sure HS can teach him how to recruit.
