Hey Pelini?

We're not getting 4 wins. We'll beat So. Bama MAYBE and double our win total from last year.

You guys who think we're beating Troy, FIU, and Navy are delusional. We've beaten Troy once and it was 5 yrs ago. Navy will run all over us and FIU is going to spank us.

We'll probably win a squeaker against So. Bama

FIU sure as hell did not spank AKRON at home!

Re: Hey Pelini?

Wilbert keeps throwing 70% completion percentage well win 4 or 5 games.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

Re: Hey Pelini?

Tidbit to chew on;

We signed 12 JUCO or transfer players this year who were expected to contribute (read start!) right away.

First, we released Grimes whom Hawaii picked up immediately. Second, MG3 and Carter have not been cleared to play.

So three down already. Of the remaining 9, over two games that "could" translate to 18 starts - we have had only five (5) starts by our new upperclassmen aquisitions so far. So far we are depending on last years holdovers to carry the ball.

Too me, this is very disappointing, especially in that of our new big O linemen (whom were all here for the spring too I beleive), only Johnson has even played with one start and subbing the MTSU game. Vile and Ragoo have not even played yet.

I don't know the reasons for these personel choices obviously. but something for thought!

Re: Hey Pelini?

If they are not playing it shows they aren't as good as advertised. Some of the juco transfers are on scout team. You ask me its wasted scholarships.

Re: Hey Pelini?

The loss is not a panic moment….I see a better team from last year already.  I see a better team from week 1.  Positives:  Wilbert; only 2 penalties for 26 yards.  I believe that is 4 penalties in two games.  Has their been a change in discipline from the last season?  YES!  We are eliminating things that killed us last year.  What I expect…we will continue to improve.  The players will not quit, if they do, they will sit may even get kicked off the team.  We don't need cancer on this team like last year.  The team that played last Saturday will not be the same team that is playing the last 3 to 4 weeks of the season.  I think a lot of opponents are going to be very happy not to have to play us late in the season.  I hope we don't get too banged up the next two weeks.  I still think 3 to 5 wins depending how the ball bounces is still a reasonable expectation for our win total this year.  DON'T PANIC!

Re: Hey Pelini?

Why am I not shocked that people are calling Pelini out already after two whole games?  Real talk, this is not a one or two year rebuild here.  We are going to be bad for two - three years.  Take issue if during that time we do not see measurable and marked improvement.

Regarding the JUCO's, they are depth at position of need.  Look around the NCAA, JUCO's are lightly used and their success rate is extremely low.  IF Top 25 teams take one a year, they are very ready to play NOW.  Most JUCO's fizzle out and don't do a thing.  They go to a JUCO for more reasons than just grades.

i would say 4 wins should be the min this year. its the freaking sun belt. mtsu just lost to a double 1AA team. FAU should have been better.

Why?  We lost arguably the most talented player in our history to the NFL with no replacement.  What do you see that makes us a four win team?  Alfred was great in spite of our OL, not because of it.

Re: Hey Pelini?

I agree on the rebuild time frame.  We should sit back and let it happen because it aint happnin fast. Let Coach P  build the team. This team on the field is Schnelly's team with Pellini's stamp. We can start criticizing in two more years, but now is not the time.

Re: Hey Pelini?

Just wanted to share these numbers that I found interesting. While everyone says they have noticed improvements on the field, last year we gave up 479 yards to the Blue Raiders with 187 coming on the ground. Middle Tennessee gained 480 total yards Saturday night, rushing for 302 of them.  McNeese State held them to just a total of 343 yards.

Re: Hey Pelini?

This is gonna be another painful season.  Let's hope for week to week improvement and it will ultimately translate to wins.
