Offensively, this unit usually take more time to gel.  But, we have seen more positives in two games, then the entire season last year.

The offense needs an identity.  We can't be so darn predictable in the first half … run, run, pass … run, run, pass …etc

We need to stay out of 3 & longs …. and finish drives, if we can learn to protect the ball better, it should give the offense a chance to do just that.

I think we all expected more points with the new spread offense, so it's a bit disappointing so far … I think we have been a bit too conservative at times, I still think the coaches are still trying to get a gauge on things.  I do expect this unit to get better, whether that translate to W's, not sure.

Can't continue to wait till the 4th quarter to find the end-zone.

I can make the comparison to Mich and Bama becuase it is all relative yea they have great talent but they have to play the against way more talent week in and out too it is hard to rebuild when you have to play UF UGA and LSU every other week. We will see Im not calling for Pelini's head i am just my scratching head a bit after these past couple of games.  We are fans we can overreact that is our job. Pelini talked about the passion Nebraska fans have I am willing to bet they are going nuts calling for BO's head after this week at UCLA.

The difference is that Michigan and Alabama have talent equal to or better than the talent of all of their opponents.

Unfortunately, we do not have talent equal to or better than our SBC competition.

There are probably numerous FCS teams with better overall talent than what we have. It is going to be difficult to turn things around until we get on equal footing talent wise with our conference opponents. Again, Michigan and Alabama are on equal footing with their opponents.

Re: Hey Pelini?

Lets not forget mighty Alabama lost in 2007 at home to ULM….Nick Sabans first year as coach.

This year is going to be tough on Pelini.  If Wilbert keeps it up he should be able to shape the D up to keep us competitive against all Sun Belt teams.

Re: Hey Pelini?

WE have switched to the spread O and it is supposed to move the ball and score points - so Coaches, let's do that. Take some shot downfield and get the O in gear.
So far we have a good play, line up and then wait for the play to be signaled in. 60 plays a game is not our goal, I thinki it is supposed to be 80.
I know stuff takes time, but let 'em play. Take chances, being undersized and undertalented and being ultra conservative is a sure recipe for an ass whooping - see the past 10 years vs. BigSix conference teams as my examples - see ULM vs. Arkansas as the opposite!

Re: Hey Pelini?

Seems as if the coaches don't have confidence as yet opening up the play book on offense.

Re: Hey Pelini?

Been knowing the defense was in trouble for some time now. scout team has been killing it running and passing except for german. The jucos was a waste of recruiting and didnt like the idea of it from the start. Big time juco recruits dont sign with FAU they sign with the FSUs and Kansas state's. Bill Snyder at kansas state has built that program with juco players but only because they are in his back yard. Lots of juco schools in Kansas and guess what state borders kansas………NEBRASKA!

A few of our recruits are from Kansas though….
The others are mostly from Arizona, less German who is from a CC in Mississippi.

How exactly does a scout team dominate without a QB? Especially in the passing game. Is Bracewell the one?

Everything we read said MG3 was running scout teams. Think you just poked a hole in big owl's theory here.

So you're implying the same thing about German then.

I think a good JUCO prospect can look at FAU as an opportunity to get on the field fast and not be a backup at a larger school.
