And yes it is wishful thinking, not any difeferent than those who want to stay on this course that we are on, that we can win the conference next year, or ever again for that matter! We were 4-8 with three of those wins by 1 point, not good at all. Just thoink, 3 points difference ON THE YEAR and we could well have been 1-11. If that had happened, what is being said BY ALL then???????????

Record in 2005: 2-9 (Even worse than this year)
Record in 2006: 5-7
Record in 2007: 8-5 Conference champs.

We had a off year. Doesn't mean it will get worse next year. In fact, our short history says it should improve.
And as far as one point wins, I'll take them anyday…a win is a win.

It can destroy a program.  No one does that.  We have a coach under contract.  My perspective has always been about running a business.  If we want a new coach then we fire ours and look for a new one.  You don't just go ask everyone and see what sticks.  Sorry, but that makes no sense.  That is a fans perspective on a message board but not based on reality.  It is NOT like recruiting, nor even close.

Here are some facts…

New QB limited or no game experience
New WR's limited or no game experience
New TE's limited game experience
New DB's limited game experience

We WILL be 0-4 before we even play a game in our stadium which will be a month into the season already. If you're telling me we will win the conference and go to a bowl game.. I got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

I think we will win 3 games next season 1 of those being FIU

Are you saying a different coach would have a chance against Florida, Michigan State, and Auburn?

Not saying that at all. You can get Urban Meyer in here with Nick Saban as an assistant and we'd still be 0-4. I'm just stating the facts to go along with my opinion that we'll have 3 wins next season. It is VERY tough for an athlete at any level in any sport to start 0-4 and then have a positive attitude and a positive outlook on the season.

We probably take an assistant from one of the big 3

Coaches recruit the players and hire the Coaches (OC in this case) and set the style of play. So YES, they are responsible!

Yeah?  Under Urban Meyer (supposed great coach) a National Gatorade Player of the Year (Brantley) couldn't score.  But I bet you would think Meyer could come in and out-coach Howard….not so fast.
