After the way this season started, I'd take winning out and a Shula Bowl victory and be happy.
I agree, win the Shula Bowl…..lol, that can be our bowl game this year…….
And im saying it now….i think the Shula Bowl is going to be a good game this year!
Of course, I'm pulling for FAU all the way. But don't be surprised if FIU can pull it out. They are a good football team.
Let's not get carried away here. They beat a pitiful N. Texas team, they beat WKU and they beat MTSU. Granted we lost to MTSU and FIU beat them, but FIU is an IMPROVED football team, I wouldn't go as far as saying they are good. I wouldn't go as far as saying we are good either right now.
Actually, we beat North Texas, MTSU and Toledo (not WKU, we play them in December). If it means anything, we also got within a touchdown from winning against USF. Also, the 2005 Shula Bowl was not "erased" as much as some would like to believe. It is very much in print and real.

I forgot about this…. didn't FIU forfeit their wins that season?

Smitty:
Yes, they did…actually any games from 2003, 2004, and 2005 that involved any of the players…
Panther:
Here is the most recent article detailing the issue:
"It is worth noting, though, that just last spring, FIU was ordered to vacate records of all games involving 45 athletes tied to a case involving financial aid violations that led to ineligible players.
Among those casualties were FIU's 2003, '04 and '05 football seasons."

Even if the win doesn't exist in the record books, the on the field beating still happened.

Okay, they are 1 for 7…that means they win 14% of the games we play, that is called domination.

They have to lose to us then to MT in the last game and believe it or not we win the Sunbelt if we win out.
I know that is alot for a team that is 1-2 in conference play but I think it is possible, I'll take anything at this point.
For those of you who want to rain on my parade–SAVE IT…GO OWLS!!!!
