Do a promotion... offer a free six pack with each purchase of a ticket. That will boost sales.

I want a first game sellout and the excitement that will bring the school and team but…

I am really kinda glad ticket sales are real slow. Prices are high, team sucks (so far) and coach is retiring with no replacement named. Sounds real appealing to me.

I hope the admin sees the light and realizes that A NAME coach is needed and an EXCITING team is needed to fill 30,000 seats. Quit waiting admin, fly 'em in and show them the school and the stadium and see who bites. I really don't see any point in waiting to hire a newly FIRED coach at the end of the year. And we all know there is one REAL qualified coach out there dying for a chance to be a head coach again.

If FAU had a reputation for a good time on Saturday, and it doesn't yet, then it would be an easier sell. That's for young people, mind you.

I agree. Promote it as an event. I know our AD said he wanted to treat our home opener like a Bowl Game, with a fly over and a party-like atmosphere.

But we are 3 & 1/2 weeks out and still no advertising for this "Bowl-Like" event.

I'm not trying to bash FAU, but how difficult is it to say:

"Where White to our home opener to White Out Western Kentucky!"

"We'll hold a tailgate contest at our home opener. The best overall tailgate wins a prize pack, so come out and tailgate!!!"

"Join the alumni party at noon for a pep rally with Coach/FAU Prez/Craig Aneglos/School Band"

These are simple, inexpensive things to promote the game, and none of that is being done! >:(

Anyone here want to start our own campaign to promote the home opener? Because at this point I just don't trust FAU to get the job done.

I'd rather them focus on recruiting the local alumni to come to the games then the FSU fan in Coral Springs.  But I guess we could use both.

I dont think we need to recreate the wheel here…there are other schools that have been successful at attracting thier alumni through various methods.  We should copy those that work.

We should work in some beach themed tailgaiting to seperate ourselves from UF and FSU.  Not to sound like a perv but get a bunch of girls walking around in bikinis and it wont matter if we are #1 or #120…it'll be busy.

Because, the seats are blue, so if everyone wore blue, it would not show up.

Not red because the WKU is red as you stated.

White will show up the best!!!

I say blue since you won't be able to tell the fans from the empty seats.  

EDIT:  I've done my part, just purchased a group of 15 tickets for the game.  No matter what I'm gonna have a good time and I'm ready for tailgating!

I just noticed that the cheapest individual game ticket is $11. Multiply that ticket by 5 games = $55. So why are the cheapest season tickets priced at $135? That's almost 2 & 1/2 times the price. That means I can buy a pair of tickets for all five games, individually, and still have money left over for beer vs. paying for 1 season ticket.

I know we need to pay for the stadium and everything, but does anyone else think FAU is shooting themselves in the foot with their pricing? They need to average 12,000 season tickets sold, and currently they are at 5,000 after 7 months of being on the market.

If people can buy individual tickets at cheaper rate than season tickets, FAU will never reach their target #.


FAU really should do a SALE of some sort. Maybe take 4,000 season tix and sell them at half price, as a promotion. That way FAU still rakes in $270,000 vs. 4,000 individual tix (x 5 games) being sold for $220,000, or even not being sold at all.

Clearly, FAU won't sell 4,000 season tickets at full price before our home opener. So they really should do a promotion through SocialLiving.com or Groupon.com or something like that.
