It's hard to be a moron when I'm 100 percent right…
I know how much it bothers you a 20 something schools you guys and tells you like it is, but hey I'm more of a kick out of everything when you can provide no facts and just resort to name calling.

Go Owls BTW.

I called you a moron because I and everyone else have pointed how you conduct yourself is wrong but you continue which makes you a moron.  It's like arguing with a 5 year old, not worth the time.  You seriously need to grow up.

The only think you don't like the way I conduct myself is the fact I disagree with you.

Its great when you call me a child yet I didn't call anyone names or just say #fireshane
The thing that bothers you is the fact that I'm right and the truth hurts.
Sorry man maybe you should become an adult learn to accept that.

This is the last time I will respond to any of your comments on this board because as I have said it's like arguing with a child.  I would suggest everyone else does the same and maybe you will learn how to conduct yourself but I highly doubt it because you just don't possess the mental capacity.

There are many other comments on this board that I disagree with but they are well thought out and it is their opinion whether I agree with them or not isn't the point.  Your problem is you have no understanding on how to conduct yourself.  Some day you might learn that you don't know everything and there will be many many times in your life when you are wrong (you will have more times than most).  You will also learn that even if you are right there is a way to present your position without coming across as a complete jackass.

Please do yourself a favor and don't respond because I truly don't care what you have to say anymore.

Good luck…you're going to need it.

GO OWLS!

Man I really got to your core (whether you admit it or not is another thing) ok you can take your ball and go home I truly don't care what you think.
Again I maintain a argument and the only thing you have done is insult my intelligence……have you ever thought to yourself just maybe I just get a kick out of all you guys throwing hissy fits over anytime I bring up the Howard thing and I'm trolling just a bit……
I am very successful and have a lot of great things going for me and I don't need dusky's approval because I don't worship Howard. Maybe like a few others on board maybe you should get to know me you might change your opinion in sit in section 208.

Way to be a narcissist.  You really have killed conversation on this site.  There used to be a ton of different voices on here that don't participate primarily due to your antics.  In your words trolling.  You really have no respect for anyone especially Rick.  It's not all about YOU.  Like Dusky said there are plenty of opinions to disagree with on here, but at least they are presented in reasonable manner.  We all wish you would just go away.  Go get a life, I doubt you are successful or have much going on for yourself.  #fire shane

Here is why I hold Howard in such high regard:

Imagine going to FAU when football was not even a thought. Basketball was division II.  Athletics is a huge part of the foundation of the pride you get from your alma mater. Some of us graduated from FAU without ever experiencing that feeling of pride from a team.

I was certainly proud of being a FAU grad but never experienced that thrill of victory while at FAU.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think we would have a football team or an on campus stadium. Never once thought about being in a Bowl game or playing football against the likes of the Florida Gators or the Miami Hurricanes.  Never ever.

…and then one day years after I graduated from FAU, Howard Schnellenberger (with President Cantonese) was on the campus at my alma mater talking about the feasibility of having a football team.  They decided they would think about a move forward if they could raise $5M in seed money to get the ball rolling.  Most of the money (if not all of it) came in due to the presence of Howard Schnellenberger being the face of FAU football.  There was no Oxley building.  There were no practice fields yet. That area was just a big field of grass.

The entire football program was sitting in that field in a trailer.  And for a couple of years you went into that trailer and donated money and you committed to season tickets and you talked to Howard Schnellenberger and you started to develop your wildest of dreams like having a football team and having an on campus stadium. You dreamed about crazy things like playing in a bowl game and playing the likes of the Florida Gators and the Miami Hurricanes.

You started to have that huge pride in your alma mater in a way that was never there before.  And you knew that through that whole process, it was happening because of Howard Schellenberger and that his dream was now your dream.

Embrace the Legend!  Owls Up.

+1,000.  I have to say, this is our perspective though.  The people following the program from the beginning see things this way.  The people that have started following the program since 2009ish and forward I can understand how they dont have that perspective (I think they should take the time to learn and understand, but that is hoping).

Howard made something out of NOTHING at a place where most people laughed at him and didn't even think it was a possibility (let's remember the Dan Lebetard show which is now nationally syndicated having bits at Howard's expense, literally mocking the program and himself on one of the most listened to sports programs in the country).  He put his ego aside (let's remember this guy had one hell of a career before stepping foot on FAU's campus).  He had coached at places like Alabama, Miami, Oklahoma, Louisville, etc.  You imagine Butch Davis standing on a stump at some no name school and clamouring to start a football program?  I sure cant.

What he did for our University was much bigger than any season's W/L record.  The fact that we have our stadium and looking to add on with tremendous facilities, going to the Swamp and taking UF to overtime (I dont care how good they were), winning bowl games, recruiting 3 star athletes, increasing the profile of FAU, etc are all amazing feats that I myself cant even imagine accomplishing.  I sure couldn't dream of it when we were getting our butts kicked by Slippery Rock on that extremely hot day in 2001.  The man leveraged his reputation to gain enough credibility with donors to get a football program started...our football program.

Howard has national championships, multiple DI college football fields named after him and a reputation second to none.  He should arguably be in the college football HOF.

He had all this success from turning programs around (or starting them out of thin air) and bringing them to thier highest levels.  He didn't inherit this success.  Which to me is the most amazing part of all of it, in fact it's crazy that I am not embellishing any of it.

This of course doesn't mention that he is STILL involved in our University doing what he can to accomplish the goals he set out to achieve.  Let's go ahead and remember the good times, because those good times were amazing to me.  We could have stayed D-I AA and won championships…no question, then this conversation would be null and void.  But he got us to the DI level where we still experienced great relative success, considering the resources available (stadium, money, tradition, etc).  Yes, we are in a recruiting hot bed but we played at Lockhart stadium (and I use that term "stadium" loosely), if anybody thinks they could have recruited high level athletes and coaches with the resources he had…let me check your W2 because you should be making millions $$$ in a business development role somewhere.

It's fine to critisize and have a perspective of your own.  Just remember, there are other persectives out there and they are extremely warranted.  Having said all of that, let's keep the personal attacks out of this forum.  I think being able to have civil and respectful conversations on this board is what sets us apart from boards like scUM's.  We all are on here because we are a niche of the small fan base that truly cares about FAU football.  Let's keep the talk on the program, the program Howard created.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

He was also honorary for both UM and FAU at both contest we had, not to mention the former players of his that showed up to the stadium that he spent years laboring and campaigning for since the football team came into existence. My wife and his family are huge UM fans. The day of the UM game at our stadium as he came by, she got excited because she grew up watching the HS teams have success.
