My question of the hour: is Craig Angelos a risk taker?

He's not afraid to go after a coach with a past to make the right move for the program.

Where does he go for FAU? So many connections to UM that guy…I have to think Shannon is in the conversation with the likes of Davis and perhaps Leach too.

As I have always said before…FAU should not only look at other head coaches to fulfill the job!  I believe we could get a really good coordinator from a big school to take the job.  He will know what it takes to play at that level and has the challenge of making a name for themselves.  ex. could be Kirby Smart from Alabama or say someone like Jarrett Anderson from TCU (These are just examples).  Someone who has been to the top or has had the opportunity to make their way to the top.

I still believe this would be our best option.

College Football is all about who you know. At its heart its a good ole boys network.

That being said Angelos does have those kind of ties to at least be in the conversation for a Leach or Shannon. Davis is to Toxic right now and the issues are too fresh.

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

From FAU Sports on Angelos: "Previously, he was at the University of Miami (FL) for eight years, serving in a variety of positions but primarily as the second in command. Prior to Miami, Angelos spent three years at the NCAA as a legislative assistant interpreting the association's rules and regulations. He has served as an intercollegiate athletics administrator for nearly 20 years."


He has Shannon and Davis' numbers on speed dial.

I got to tell you, I think Butch Davis would be a coup...The guy can recruit South Florida...He has a history with Howard.....He ran a clean program at Miami......This would be a great replacement in my opinion...

Leach, Shannon, Davis... all 3 are top level coaches, I would be happy for any one of them. I know it is a pay cut for all of them, but knowing the right people, fixing damaged goods, whatever, there has got to be a good chance for 1 outta 3.

Why is Randy Shannon in the running? He went 28-22 in three seasons with the Hurricanes.
