Right now having Howard at the helms for another three to four years is and will be instrumental for the growth of this program, if he stays longer even better. It brings stability to a very young program at a very fragile stage of it' development.

FIU is in a very tough predicament, not too many coaches can walk in the situation FIU is in right now, they would have benefited more had Strock stayed there for another two to three years, plus the brawl with Miami has done more harm then good for their program. Mention FIU right now and people bring-up the UM-FIU brawl, not a good reputation to be associated with for a young program. The brawl has set their program back two to three years, IMO. Their AD Garcia will soon realize he is no longer at the U and wish he was.

Bytor, you are absolutely correct and part of that stability is him being a master of the media. He can say stuff and get away with it just as Bowden and peterno do. This comes from respect and to have a coach that carries that much clot is hard to find. He is also very very good at seizing the moment, lending a helping hand re: Pine Forrest, Louisville for practice facilities and you know that is priceless. They media coverage, program exposure, recruiting and future games. Some of the kids may not know who he is but like the news clip on the Pine Forest coach saying how cool it was to have a legend talk to his team. Priceless. When UM started posting threads about him coming back to the U (not that the officials at the U would even think about it) there fans talking about it was very cool.

We have a coach that is worth 100 times his weight in gold and I don't think a lot of people realize that especially the BOT of how important he is to the continued development of this program and the even the other programs. I hate to bring It up but they should be beating doors down to get a stadium for this guy. No more well's and if's.
