I still don't understand the water and food lines, especially now.

Many stores are open selling these things. The day after the storm, I used my debit and credit cards in B.J.'s. Publix was accepting credit cards and cash.

Where would these people be for food if the storm hadn't hit?

Oh well, it's getting better. The gas line problem would not be bad if the state and federal officials had done a lick of proper planning.

Finally got power back - it is a mess out there, but things are slowly getting to some form of order - there are still many without power. Looks like the school took a big hit and will be force to make some adjustments. I belive our game with N. Texas will have to be moved up due to some damage at Lockhart with their light towers.

Just a forewarning to all those who get POWER back… Do NOT assume it is for good and then feel too heartbroken if you lose it again. Last hurricane season we lost power for 6 days then had it back for a week and then lost it for nearly a full day again and got it back. So, not trying to be a negative nelly or anything - just be ready for all possibilities. I don't know if it is the number of lines being repaired at once or what but it can go back out again. My girlfriend lost hers this time after getting it back for 6 hours and now it has been out for a full day again. Who knows when they get it back? We are lucking out so far here at my house. Keep your fingers crossed and good luck to all with getting it restored!

Some sectuons of West Boca and Deerfield Beach had the power restored on Saturday night. Some gas lines has eased a bit but it's still a long wait and some places.

OOOOOOH Yeah!!! I got home from work in the dark last night and there is nothing more beautiful than seeing the street lights on when you get home! I had a rockin power party at my house last night, lots of hot showers for everyone and plenty of light! My cable is working too, an added bonus. It's gonna take me all day to read what I missed on the board! Looking forward to Saturday!

The strangest thing about the hurricane in my neighborhood was the ability to find my DirecTV dish in the yard, slap it back on my house, plug the TV and dish box into the generator and watch satellite TV while most other got "snow".

After 2 days w/o tv, i went outside and reset the dish - its ok but some stations dont come in - i called direct tv - they said november 22nd they will come out….

Still no power…..

You and your family, just hang in there. Hopefully it'll all get right real soon.

The only way I'm on the internet or can watch TV is while I'm working at the hospital. I have been catching up on a lot of movie watching however. Luckily I do have power and can take a hot shower…so no real complaints.
