Hung over?

Why is this even relavant to this situation?

These are very young college kids and will they party a little, please let's not start acting like it's doesn't happen and should never be used as an excuse as to why the team lost. You can't put the kids under lock and key, you must allow them to live life and in doing so, the kids will learn life's lessons, some faster then others.

Bytor, I agree 100%. This is the most ridiculous subject ever. I highly doubt that kids are playing hung over. Just because someone goes out and has a good time during their free time doesn't mean that it impacts their play on the field. I would like to think that these guys are smarter than that. GO OWLS!!!

I'll just make one reply and one remark, and leave it at that…

DieHard:

Until you put NINE YEARS in the Athletic Department at this university and work side by side with the coaches (including HS) and athletes and see behind the scenes both the good, bad, and the ugly - i have no regard for your "opinion" on the validity or relevancy of my remarks…you have no pertinent knowldge to relate, confirm, or deny anything…and once again, your careful choice of words sprinkled in hostility has prompted me to want to have absolutley nothing to do with communication with you…if you could ever drop the explicatives and obvious anger issue, i might be willing to have productive dialouge with you…

As far as the rest, please excuse me if you found my comment offensive… it was intended to be objective in nature…not a character assisination…but i thought the subject was "conduct detrimental to the team"…which involves all parties on the team - coaches included…

i am not going to defend my claim…it doesnt need to be…but obviously everyone missed the point i was trying to make- which was not to bash or harm somone…i have immense repsect for HS - having worked with him for two years…i simply was pointing to the fact that behavior by anyone along those lines is not going to help in any form…

i should have known that by bringing up some "history" that some of the ever faithful would be ruffled…as such i will just keep such knowledge and comments to myself in the future…

Florida Owl - I learned long ago that this is a cheerleading board. For those of us who work or worked in the department as coaches or whatever who say anything negative about what's going on you can expect to be immediately and tactlessly attacked complete with immature personal trash. This board evidently doesn't want to know the true inner realities of the department so I suggest you do as I did; cut back your posting to near to nil and let them enjoy their cheerleading where they get the bulk of their information from publicly disseminated information they find on the web.

Everyone relax!! I think that all on this board wants FAU to succeed. I think everyone should be able to voice opinions: good or bad. So I hope no ones leaves.GO OWLS!!! Different opinions is what makes this board better. There should be both sides....

Listen Florida_Owl… I can really careless who you ever worked for or what minor feats you have accomplished. The only thing I really care about, is for you to keep your constant negative comments to yourself…

The point of these boards is to be able to express your opinion and be able to openly discuss them without reverting to insults. I have notice that some posters have very short fuse or are intolerate to others opinions.

Just keep in mind that for every post that you might make, there might be someone who may disagree with you or is willing to challenge what you have said - you have two options, either respond to the comments or ignore them.

I will only make one more comment here, be carefull on your wording, sometimes things do not come across the way you might have indeeded, I have been quilty of this on occassion, especially if I post something in a hurry and/or respond to something without fully understanding the comments meaning that where made. We all make mistakes, but I will again remind posters to be carefull on how you word your comments, a tone can be set that can be taken the wrong way.

If you are not sure of someone's intend, ask for clarifications. All I ask from posters is to remain cordial to other poster, even if you happen to disagree with a certain comment, calling someone a Moron does very little, instead state why you feel the way you do. Respect others view and they too shall respect yours as well.

If some of you (new posters) have yet read the Board Protocols, then I would suggest that you take a few minutes to read them.

Again, difference of opinions is what drives these boards.

I for one did not care for the comments about Howard, for the simple fact that, he has put that part of his life behind him and was irrelavate to players/student drinking during the week. All I ask was why the poster made the commenst he did because I didn't thing it was relavate to the situation that was being discussed at the time and I did this with out calling the poster a moron, only ask why bring it up if it's not relavant?

Does drinking affect preformance, propably, can't be good for the body come game day - dehydration come to mind and for a football players that is not a good thing, I know from first hand experience. These are young college student (first), sure it's easy to say that their focus should be totally on football during the season, but reality says differently, there are many distractions surrounding the players which involves peer pressure and partying is one of those animals that the players are faced with.

Peace.
