There is a pretty good thread on this issue that I am sure Rick (admin) can insert here for you.
One question I would have is what is your history with South Florida? 1st visit, been here done that?
I've only been to Boca a few times for business. I have spent a considerable amount of time in Miami, Tampa, Orlando (have a condo there), and been to a few Orange Bowl games, etc.
Boca - only been in and out trips with nominal exposure. I did once get booked at the 'Hotel Bibo' in West Palm for a night, which turned out to be rather a silly adventure that I would not repeat….
If you are looking to turn it into a vacation and willing to spend some money you can't beat the Boca Resort, http://www.bocaresort.com/, gonna cost you though.
A touristy (sp) area is Deerfield Beach by the pier, on the beach, couple good restaurants (Whale's Rib!!) and couple bars, much cheaper than the resort.
If you are really just coming for the game I would stick with the team hotel, the Hilton Suites on Glades.
GO OWLS!

There's actually a Fairfield Inn located just off campus on Airport road. You can probably walk to the stadium from the hotel.
Yes, that's the closest hotel to the stadium but that would be a long walk. At least 30 minutes, easy.

How about the city water plant, or retention ponds?? Will that work?
There is a Jamba Juice, though…
But me thinks you should spring for the $25 Enterprise Rental…they will even "pick you up"!

Laspada's Hoagies in Boca (3 minutes from campus) for lunch, Whale's Rib in Deerfield for dinner. Depending on how much time you have, I'd also recommend Charm City Burgers.
Also check out Biergarten and/or The Cove for drinks.
And, if you like to golf, we only have something like 81291892189218929 golf courses. We even have a miniature golf course in nearby Delray Beach called Putt'n' Around that serves beer.
Boomers! next to campus has mini-bowling as well, if you've never tried that.

La Spada's over V & S? Hmm that's a tough one. V & S, hands down best Italian sub in town
Haven't been to V&S but La Spada's is clearly the local favorite wherever they go…
I've been happy with D'Best Subs on Yamato and 620-Subs as well, but they're not on the level of La Spada's. Obviously I support 620-Subs because they're big FAU fans but they don't make meatball subs and that's my thing.
