Hypocrisy at its finest?

Tim is right . Everyone needs to be big boys. I still like Chuck. Someone said he has a chip on his shoulder or arrogant, so what. So do I . I call it confidence.

Re: Hypocrisy at its finest?

What some of you do not understand is, journalists from competing media are rarely friends, often dislike each other and much of the time compete for the same stories. We do not work for the common good or as a team.  In 25 years in the business, I can't think of one instance in which I was friends with a competing reporter. That's just how it is.

Of course, those who cover FAU or anything else have journalistic ethics to uphold. These ethics, unfortunately, seem to be a be less stringent when it comes to sports than news.

There is, however, expected civility and cooperation. That's the subject of my bone with one member of that other site. He acts as if he owns FAU events and from the first day I saw him, was uncooperative when it came to photo and news conference positions. He seems to think he has a deed at a certain spot or two on the basketball court baseline. Last season, he challenged me when I dared to shoot from one of his chosen spots (he was not there when I positioned myself). I ignored his childish protest.

The other site is always territorial about any FAU coverage.  If they scoop a story I can understand them wanting proper credit.  In this case, if they are accusing Dieter of plagiarism, they should come out and say it.

I still have a problem with this URL they own:  fauowlnest.com

I think stealing a web address is dirty pool.

The owner of this site should file a UDRP complaint. Might have to hire a lawyer, or maybe one who handles internet law and this type of thing and is a regular here could help do it pro bono, but IMHO UDRP would be the way to go.

I agree with you Lago.

I brought this up because I'm constantly involved in IP issues like this.  This website has built up a lot of goodwill over the past 10+ years.  Diverting web traffic from this site to their site , just because someone forgot to type the "s" in Nest is stealing.

If the shoe was on the other foot and the domain "fau-owlaccess" was purchased and pointed to the 'Nest, they'd be on that in a millisecond.
