I know its early, but I just want to see what everyone else thinks...

What is your gut feeling about where our program is, heading into next year?

I only see a couple of losses on the schedule....big turnaround ahead...
We are going to shock alot of teams on the schedule and make a bowl game...
If some young guys step up, we could go over .500...
Not a whole lot better, but young with potential and fun to watch...
We're living in fantasyland...the teams on our schedule are going to crush us...

You must select between 1 and 64 options

exactly. so if someone we all agree was not a runner was able to make a few productive plays then I can't wait to see someone execute these more with coach confidence to run it more. I do expect the number of passing plays to take a toll. whatever helps us win

The success of GWs option runs was solely because of the shock value, teams didnt ever account for him running, which is also why our rbs struggled at times.

When we add this running qb dimension to our offense this year (which is a role every qb on our roster can fulfill) then the offense becomes much harder to defend.

I think the bar should be set at .500 and this team certainly has the potential to exceed/go better than .500. Lots of teams in CUSA are rebuilding so just as we are looking at teams with losing records last year as very winnable games, they are also looking at FAU as a very winnable game.

Two words will define this season: QB PLAY.

It all comes down to who we have behind center.

GO OWLS!!!

When you look at our final 4 opponents, they had a combined win total of 5 games last year. If we can manage to squeak 2 out in the first 8 games of the season (likely against UAB and USF or maybe Rice) we could be in prime position to catch fire at the end of the season and get to 6-6 and a bowl game. Hopefully we'll be so hot we can end the season on a 5 game win-streak (including the bowl game). It'll be like 2008 all over again. But it really does come down to how good our QB is and as mentioned on this board before, we need to have our guy by the end of spring practices so he can get that rhythm down by the fall with the receivers, backs and protection shifts. Personally, I'm hoping Quez can separate himself from the pack a little bit because I have ZERO faith in Stephen Curtis and I think the other guys are too young. I mean c'mon, the guy blowed against Wagner last year. WAGNER!

It's like you people learn nothing. Was Curtis bad last year? yes. Was it his first ever start in a brand new offense? Yes. we're the people around him playing so well that game? No. Have we not just witnessed a "transformation" by a qb the previous year? Stephen will be better, and there will be competition for the QB spot. I expect Quez but you really never know.

I agee with you…who knows how much he learned in practice last season.  Also, now that their is a group of guys who understand the offense a little more than last year that is going to benefit all of the QB's.  I don't care who starts, as long as he is the best guy and not the coaches favorite.  If Curtis gets it done in the spring and fall…I hope he starts.

Like in the NFL…the backup QB is the most popular guy on the team.
