W/out Howard we wouldnt be much…it was like this 2 weeks ago then a couple days later some wanted a statue built for him outside the stadium…
That's not hypocrisy. Howard gets a statue because he built a football program out of nothing. He could lose every game from now until his retirement and he'd still be due that honor.

Re: I'm done
The correct decision was to go for 1. First, there was about 7 mins to go. If you go for 2 and fail then score a TD (which we almost did) you would be only up 2. A FG would beat you.
Rob Housler played well, but did have 2 big drops…
Our O-line didn't have a bad game, they are improving.
Morris could never find the gap on those sweeps…. I thought we should have tried a reverse on them to loosen them up…

Re: I'm done
Was this a bad loss? Absolutely.
I didnt see a whole lot in this game to be happy about, right up untill the last 8 minutes of the game.
The Defense finally got a few stops, although they werent great they did thier job and got the stops late when we needed it. The O looked crappy except for that fist drive and then the last two. If they could put those types of plays together for a whole game they would be great.
Rob "Roberto Duran, hand of stone" Housler made his triumphant return. I was hoping the MSU game was his awakining but clearly not.
The season isnt over but it sure as hell took a shot on Saturday.
As to the coaching change, lets not go there. Honestly I think that Coach will coach thru 2011 and get a year in his stadium and then hopefull move into the Front office or retire. He can still do a great deal for FAU football from there.
Whoever is recruiting for the Defense needs a serious kick in the pants. These kids are just not getting it done. As much as I LOVE Bartels the kid does not have the size for 1A ball. We have WAY to many walk-ons on the Defense.
Sack up Owl fans. Support your team come hell or high water.
Im not saying you have to LIKE what your seeing on the field, but I am saying that you should support it no matter what.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

I understand your thinking about going for 1. I think the correct call is going for 2 this way you're only down 3. You can't worry about what's going to happen if you score another TD. The way the offense played for most of the game you gotta go for 2 this way if it comes down to it then all you need is a fg to tie. If you don't get the 2 well then you need a TD anyway. It's clock management, if you don't get the 2 and you stop them from scoring you run that clock down as far as you can with scoring a TD so that when you do score there's not a lot of time and maybe no time outs left for N. Texas
My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

but the N texas only has to get into FG range to win, not tie… going for 2 will get you within 3…
problem with that is FG range for us is about the 15- 20 yd line…..and I don't think we have that much faith in our kicking game to go for a tie and the end of the game….but I know that going for 2 is the majority option.
On a side note, I thought Mickey Groody was great… two booming punts… he has definitely improved this year….keep it up Mick
