I know two kids that play for FIU and there parents very well. I asked them what the big difference this year and Cristabols first year, they said it seemed like it started after the last game of last season and picked up speed in the spring. The Coach's that were brought in were aggressive and eager to capitalize on their situation (New stadium, better recruits even uniforms and the biggest thing is attitude and discipline. They have a bunch of injuries but it doesn't seem to be effecting the way they are playing. They are playing as a team and teams win football games. I believe we can turn this ship around and get it heading in the right direction but it is going to take every coach, player, and fan to to that.

I'm glad that one win worked for them. Unfortunatley winning the conference and bowl game had the opposite affect on the Owls.

Re: I watched the ESPN telecast today on my DVR.....

The announcers mentioned this several times during the game - questionable coaching and the obvious signs this team is not getting along.

Right after the NO Bowl, FAU started marketing individual Owls and that is what unglued the camaraderie. There is no "Savior" on this team - it is all of them. Our "team" is what won the NO Bowl. When the 2008 posters and Media guide came out and the Seniors were not on the poster/cover, I knew then FAU was headed in the wrong direction.

Our Football staff needs to right this ship quickly. I think we still have a chance to salvage this season. We just need our "team" to believe it. Last year we had that "team meeting", I hope they have called one again and we see a big change at WKU.

There is some truth to this. Coach Howard started the Rusty marketing campaign in the summer, saying he will go first round as a senior. Its on video and print. How many times have we seen other college coaches do this? I've been around a lot longer than most on this board and I can say I have never seen anything like that. Rusty blew it off saying it didn't faze him. Well I think we can say it did faze him. The only one living up to his expectations that I can see is Frantz Joseph. He got a lot of compliments from Holtz in the Troy game. I'm not sure he is providing the leadership needed on the defense.
I'm usually not this negative but this season has gotten me frustrated.

Why market somebody's quality of play, especially for the NFL?  They think the scouts aren't paying attention?  If Rusty threw for 4,000 yards this year, wouldn't that market itself?  The way it's gone so far this season, I doubt he'd get drafted at all.

Re: I watched the ESPN telecast today on my DVR.....

When you put the QB on the billboard it gives the impression that he is the all star.  Last year, and he would agree, he was able to make plays because he was confident in his line (who he always had come up during press conferences) and his receivers (especially Harmon/Gent).

This year it was made out to be that he is the superstar that will take this team to greatness, our own little Tim Tebow.  Well guess what, he isn't, never really was. But it may have contributed to jealousy, plus the frustration of losing so many games early to set a bad tone for the season.

All I know is they need to get humble quick, play as a team, trust each other, I dont care what it takes, this season can still be salvaged.  6-6 please, thats all I ask!

I think Jamari is living up to expectations too. he has done a great job filling in for Harmon
