is this bad or good?

There is a lot more parity in college football nowadays. Kids that used to go to Miami as preferred walk ons and build their depth are now going to schools that are getting exposure thanks to tv and the internet, like FAU FIU. It's happening all over the country, the biggest still get to feast but I doubt they'll be unstoppable for longer than a few years at a time (see: university of Florida).

As for ULM, they caught the right teams at the right time. Knocking Arks QB out of the game helped them tremendously, it kept em in it. Let's all remember it wasnt a 21 point drubbing they laid on an SEC school, they squeaked one out on an awesomely ballsy play. All-barn I personally think is a result of a team with great traditions that was getting ratings based off of that history. They may only win 3 games this year. It takes about 5/6 weeks to determine the pretenders/contenders in NCAAF, they could end up like our big Minnesota win where in the end, it didn't feel so great.

That said, it's amazing for the belt and I hope we all keep knocking off some big boys! We caught the buzz saw this year, just totally unlucky to see those two SEC teams. Next year, I think we too can make waves…USF and MIAMI are both beatable.

First, Auburn is a shadow of what they were a few years ago and Arkansas sucks without the QB.  Not saying strides were not made to keep up with them, just that there are circumstances.

The SunBelt has a ton of football programs in the South East US.  This region is packed with football talent (hence the SEC).  As our programs continue to build and add legitamacy to thier programs with stadiums, weight room, etc the programs are going to get better and better.

Just look at it this way, 4 short years ago if you were looking at FAU as a football player you were looking at Lockhart Field and a commuter school…its safe to say things have changed.  FAU, IMO, will be 35,000 with 6,000 on campus with a $70 million dollar stadium that overlooks the ocean and a new weight room and study center….in less than 48 months.    :o :o :o

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

Imagine if we had knocked Murray out of the game in the 1st half and the back-up, LeMay (who was GOD awful!), had to play the entire 2nd half. Possibly quite a diiferent game at UGA for us too! But congrats to ULM and WKU for sticking in there and playing the entire 4th qtr. and OT's!
