We're hoping for a 40 person tailgate, which would be the largest crowd we've had.

Last season our biggest was around 35.

Recruiting new Owl fans, one hot dog at a time…

Wisconsin vs LSU game will be on the big screen - look for the blue Jeep Wrangler with the FAU flag pole off the spare tire.

Nice.

You guys aren't the former Owl Rangers, right?

Whatever happened to them?

No, different group.

Have been attending since the first season but the group really grew last season.

Everyone has a blast there and have been inviting friends.

Let's just say there was a lack of true leadership in the Owl Rangers and nobody joined after the 2013 football  season.

Wow, yeah. Good question.

A source in SG tells me the bonfire has been moved to Homecoming.

There's a "Nocturnal Tailgate" from 6pm-2 am on Friday Sept 2nd. It's described on Owl Central (the FAU events and club space, which also had a bonfire listing last year but has nothing now) as "In order to establish longstanding tradition, the President wants to establish a late night tailgate to occur before the first football game of every season."

Right, but we do that already... it's called the 24 Hour Tailgate, which was a tradition unique to us on the college level, as I understand. Instead we get a wimpy 8 hour tailgate?

I get that students party all night and get tired so they leave early in the game but this is like a rite of passage, like jumping in Mirror Lake during Muck Fichigan week.

I don't know the reason why, but the bonfire is no longer being done.

Got my season tickets last week.  Today I received an envelope with "food vouchers"

Good at the beer concessions.

no other specifics.  Any one know what this is about?

I got the same thing Matt. Six vouchers for each ticket. Didn't know anything about it and still don't . I will assume it is good for one food or one beer.

That seemed like it was really turning into a tradition, why kill it?

I didn't receive any vouchers, are either you or Matt in the deck? Don't want to bother calling if it is specific to certain areas.

I received vouchers today as well. I sit in the Hyundai deck. They are just for free popcorn……. A nice gesture I guess.
