Looking Ahead to UAB

Looking Ahead to UAB

Might be a silly question (coming from the soccer and NFL world) but can we make trades and acquire players to beef up our defense as the season goes along???

Also, does anyone have kids and plan on making it to the youth day events… apart from tailgating at noon lol

You can't really trade players in college football because the kid is enrolled at whatever school he plays at. A kid can transfer schools if he'd like but he'd have to sit out 1 year from the day he transfered

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

The kid must also be "released" from the school he is playing for. Generally this done without any type of problem, but sometimes it get tricky if a kid wants to transfer to a conference rival for example. In those cases the NCAA usually gets involved.

Also, schools can't go out and recruit players that are already playing for other schools. Once the transfer paperwork has gone thru and a kid has been cleared to transfer then teams can start to court him.

Re: Looking Ahead to UAB

I actually think this will be a pretty good game.  Don't be surprised if the game is closer than many of you expect.  UAB has some solid, disciplined players… just not a ton of depth or ton of experience.  No team in the nation has played more freshmen over the last two years than UAB.  UAB will be very tough to beat in a year or two once all of these freshmen are juniors and seniors.
