OK, this is FAU first bowl trip EVER and you've sold under 500 tickets…you don't get to thumb your nose at 10,000 fans from Memphis at the New Orleans bowl.  :

LOL, there are still 2 weeks left to buy tickets…

in 2003 Memphis took 10,000 to New Orleans…

in 2004 Memphis took 9,100 to Mobile AL for the GMAC bowl…we would have brought more but the stadium there only hold 40,000 people.

in 2005 Memphis took 2,500 to Detroit MI for the Motor City Bowl on the DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS.

and now in 2007 i would expect around 5,500 Memphis fans to make the trip to New Orleans the day before #2 Memphis v. #4 Georgetown at a sold-out FedExForum with 18,100 screaming Memphis fans in attendance…so yeah, basketball is kinda big around here…i know FAU wouldn't understand, but try.

there is NO WAY FAU brings anywhere near 5,500 folks…MAYBE 1,100 fans, with band and cheer squad.

Memphis football had 3 straight 40,000 attendance years…took over 10,000 to a bowl game…but none of that compares to Memphis Basketball…but if you think noone cares about Memphis football it just shows how little you know.

a football TEAM is more than one guy…Danny Wimprine (CFL), DeAngelo Williams (NFL, Car Panthers), Mo Avery (NFL Europe), Steven Gostkowski (NFL, NE Patriots)…they all helped to get us to bowl games.

and now guys like Martin Hankins, Carlos Singleton, Joe Doss, Duke Calhoun, etc are doing the same thing.

look at Memphis basketball…we're more than Derrick Rose…it's CDR, Joey Dorsey etc.

it's called a TEAM effort.

So you're football team has been playing since the 50's or 60's yet USF who has been playing for what 12 years, has come and gone even UCF who hasn't been around much longer is CLEARLY better then you. What excuses do you have? You've been playing football for over 50 years and you can't get out of C-USA.

It's OK to be a basketball school..I mean look at Duke but they don't claim to be good in Football

Oh OK that explains a lot.. CFL players and NFL Europe! How about Jared Allen (NFL europe/Tampa Bay Bucs), Chris Laskowski (Indianpolis Colts). They helped us get into the I-AA playoffs. How many national championships does your coach have? How many bowl games has he won? since you like comparing things so much, let's compare

Fortunately for you guys, you play in a conference that gets more credit than you deserve and you can plan on being in a bowl far in advance, unlike FAU who was to win the conference… not finish 5th…and top that with the fact that your basketball team is so good and hopefully you will bring 5,500.

LMFAO…1-AA playoffs, we could go win that right now…i would rather play in the NO bowl than EVER play 1-AA football.

in the history of Memphis football, we've never lost to a 1-AA.

those are the current Tigers in the NFL…Memphis has had over 100 NFL players.

he was drafted and played TE for the Tampa Bay Bucs…
was an asst coach for Tennessee, South Carolina, and Clemson…
he was hired as the UT-Chatt head man and coached Terrell Owens…
was hired as the Clemson head coach in 1993…
while at Clemson he went 31-28 and played in 4 bowls in 5 years…
Tommy West was named Memphis head coach in 2000…
Tommy West has gotten Memphis to 4 bowl in 5 years…
Tommy makes around 950,000 dollars per year at Memphis.

Yeah 1-AA playoffs, unfortunately now a days you have to start in 1-AA to make the jump to 1-A. You lost to Arkansas State I bet a team like Delaware or Colgate in 1-AA could beat Memphis, even Mt. Union college who is in D-III and seems like they win their championship every year.

Oooooh he coached Tennesse Chattanooga and T.O. WOW! You got me there, I mean compared to Howard thats amazing… Schnelly coached under Bear Bryant in Alabama. He's responsible for bringing Namath to the Tide. He was the Offensive Coordinator for the undefeated 1972 Dolphins.

Schnellenberger was an All-American as a tight end at the University of Kentucky. He coached U.M to a national championship. He coached HOF Jim Kelly, HOF Bernie Kosar

sure…your coach is 73 years old…we'll be playing in the NCAA tournament when he turns 74 in March…you really think he's gonna stick around much longer???

i mean come on, the Memphis Tigers have more history with ole Howie than FAU does…we had some battles back in the day.
