MG3 Practicing at WR

Anyone who thinks German moving to WR a week before the first game is not a problem, they are fooling themselves…. German was listed as the starter with less than a week left in camp! I thought we could compete vs UM, but with the change, not much of a chance….

I think the opposite, maybe he wasn't that good as a QB and the freshmen QBs are really good. Maybe German is very elusive like T.Y hilton. We'll see on friday.

Wow….comparing T.Y. to an unproven QB/WR….I hope you are right.

IMHO this is a big deal.  I didn't think we would be hanging with UM regardless, but neverless this was a disapointment to see, fingers crossed for the best though.

There's no doubt there in better physical shape and maybe depth but there is no qb! What's going on that field Friday is scary. It could 50-0 at half. Might even lose one of the qbs if they run much. Just being realistic, they are young and haven't seen any contact like what they are going to. They will not get the ball to the receivers  or sustain any drives, this is really probably the worst team in the country at qb right now. The #1 guy just moved to receiver and Curtis took his self out of the dog and pony show, Johnson having trouble competing with the freshmen.

Have faith big owl....could be a rough start but have to trust the coaches. They are with the players everyday and gonna do whats best. Good game to get some experince for the players before conference play.

Curtis took himself out of the running because he knew he was outclassed at QB, but he did an honorable thing and figured out where he could help the team and contributed…instead of walking away, like, oh you know.

How about we let the team play a game first before declaring everything a disaster?  I seem to remember everyone doubting we had a QB last year and Wilbert stepped in and played well.  I think that is a testament to this staff's ability to develop talent at that position and put them in a position to succeed.

And by the way, if German was really the #1, he'd be the starting QB.  It's not as if we don't need a QB…if he was the best guy, he wouldn't be a WR right now.

I will have to give the benefit of the doubt to this coaching staff.  Now if we were talking about our coaching staff a couple of years ago, I would be running scared with this sudden mystery change.  If German was the real deal Holyfield, he would be out there with the ones.  I think these coaches are trying to run a no huddle, spread,  fast uptempo offense like the one Texas A&M ran last year.  Of course I am not comparing us to TA&M but coach is trying to throw off UM by not naming a starter yet. Mark my word, if we are ever close in a game like @ Auburn a few years back, this coach will throw in the kitchen sink if he has to and leave it all in the field.  All in all, hope it's a competative game and we hang in there for at minimum 3Q. Go Owls!
