wouldn't an extra home game against a team that could travel well (USF, UCF, FAMU, etc) bring in pretty good money as well?

Yes but not enough to offset the "bodybag" game.

We MIGHT have a sell out for those games but probably not. USF travelled real well to lockhart that year but they were also ranked #6 at the time of our game.

Figure an average of 28 dollars per ticket and capaxity of 33,000.00

28 x 33,000= $924,000

But the 28 is probably high (due to students getting in free and other discounts) and you have no gurantee of a sellout. 900-1000K in the bank gurantee is a safer bet financially wise.

those figures seem accurate but it does not include concessions and parking but I see what you are saying…It could rain the day of a home game and then we'd really be screwed

We need to go the FIU route and start playing mediocre BCS teams that pay.  Lets play Miami and schools like that :)

We have played mediocre BCS teams and the result has been the same.

Louisvlle, Kentucky, Clemson, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, USF, Kansas, Minnesota, Kansas State, South Carolina.

The problem is that scheduling is done years in advance so a team that might be mediocre this year could be great three years now from now.

A game against Miami in our new stadium would be amazing.

Too bad they're booked for next October…  :'(

True, a few of those teams are even in the national title hunt this year with only 1 loss.

I really just meant it as a jab to Miami.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

I would love to see FAU play Miami in the new stadium. It would definitely bring some attention to FAU.

Does our new on-campus stadium hold 33K people? I kept hearing "30,000-seat stadium." An extra 3,000 seats certainly helps.
