You guys rushed for less than 10 total yards and you are going to blame the game on miscues. Listen, you guys were flat out dominated last weekend. Our defense is better than Louisville's if you didn't notice.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

During the game, announcer Bill Curry butchered our chance to get some press. He said (I'm paraphrasing): this MTSU team was the same that got beat by Florida International, ur or Florida Atlantic, one of those Florida Ocean schools, not to disrespect those Florida schools (because he didn't know who they played).

It was awful. And then later in the game they have Coach on the telephone interviewing him about the Owls and his past with Louisville, etc.

I guarantee you Coach was watching the game and heard Curry screw up our name and called someone to get the record straight. During the interview Curry acted as if he knew exactly who the Owls were :-) Go Coach!!! Go Owls!!!

Why is it that when FAU loses, it's because they beat themselves, but when we lose, it's not because we beat ourselves? I listened to Rusty Smith run his mouth all summer long about how they gave the game to us last season in Mufreesboro. Now is that fair? I know you guys feel you made alot of mistakes last year that cost you the game? Why can't we feel the same way? We rushed for 18 yards, but Gee also was not the full-time receiver that he was against Louisville. That is our fault for not realizing that, but we did make adjustments to improve.

Fact is, we did shoot ourselves in the foot to allow FAU to win more comfortably last weekend. If FAU put on a hit and forced a turnover, I'd be less likely to say that, but FAU didn't. FAU was generiously given the ball on two botched punt coverages.

I won't even get into the other things I saw. I was in Fort Lauderdale, and I know we did not play our best game. I realize that now more than ever after the game against Louisville.

If FAU is as good as YOU say they are, they will at least keep it close with Oklahoma State. At least show me that you can compete with a team from a major conference.

I saw some great things from MTSU on both sides of the ball last night. I only switched over to the NFL game once or twice because I was so excited to see MT keeping it close (not to mention it was a more exciting game). Some of the offensive play calling was brilliant and took full advantage of ULs defensive lineups. I was amazed that UL didn't do some more stunting or shifts on defense prior to the snap but MTSU took full advantage of their somewhat static defense in the first half. I noticed a change and a more dynamic approach in the second half but MT still managed to stay in the game until the end. I certainly won't take away from their accomplishments last night but to think that they are now a shoe in for the NO bowl because of it is foolishness.

As for ESPN…I didn't like the commentator who was essentially dogging MT because UL was SO great that there is no way a team like MT could be putting up points against them. That crap about the defenders "just standing around" really started to piss me off. He obviously wasn't watching the same game I was. And then to get Shnelley's name wrong!! >:(
Howard needs to send a scathing letter to ESPN and any other network that might be announcing future games to make sure that they know how to distinguish FIU from FAU and get their facts and their pronunciation right before they go on the air.

Whatever. What I saw on Saturday was FAU dominating MTSU on both the offensive and defensive lines. The stats pretty much illustrate that. Do turnovers help? Of course, that is why the losing team is usually the team that turns the ball over the most. The losing team can always point to certain mistakes that led to their downfall. But the game is over and it doesn't matter anymore. Good luck the rest of the season.

GO OWLS!

To all you MTSU fans…"If's and but's were candy and nuts, OH what a merry christmas it would be". Bottom line we whipped your asses last week and proved we are much better team. If you think you looked better against Louisville, it is probably because Louisville sucked it up last night. You guys are still then same horrible team you have always been. Good luck in at trying to salvage your season :)

I was at the FAU vs MTSU game, and I watched the Louisville vs MTSU. I'm a big-time Owl fan, but I have to say the MTSU team last night was not the MTSU team of this past weekend. Good thing we caught them when we did. Yeah, I know, I'll be blasted. But, facts is facts. Let's hope FAU surprises the Cowboys.

bro, our defense completely SMOTHERED them…

bottom line.

AND, the MAIN FACT to consider…….

The reason why we looked good against Louisville is because we ran a spread offense for 4 quarters against the Cardinals instead of a power run offense like we did in the first three quarters against FAU. When Middle Tennessee moved to a spread offense in the fourth quarter against FAU, the Blue Raiders were more productive outscoring the Owls 14-3. FAU was the better team though for that day. Much better? Hardly. FAU will lose many, many games this year starting today.

And what the heck kind of comment is that about us "salvaging" our season? The season is just beginning. I promise you that FAU will lose a Sun Belt Conference game. In fact, I bet money that FAU will lose more than one Sun Belt Conference game. If you think your team played lights out against a good MT team last Saturday than this season is going to be hard lesson for your fans to learn. FAU didn't plays lights out, and MT didn't play anywhere close to their potential. FAU did not look unbeatable against MT. You guys are awful cocky. Me thinks Oklahoma State will bring you back down to reality with a 20+ point victory.

Lets see… you scored a touchdown when your pathetic QB was being taken down by 3 owls and the ball was squeezed out and fell into your receiver's hands as he stood there watching his teammate get busted up yet again. And the second was on a blocked punt that had nothing to do with your offense.

Productive???? hell no.

Pathetic??? absolutely.

Your offense did look better at Louisville, but don't try to rewrite the game facts…

Is everybody at MTSU as pathetic as you and your football team… Or is it just you 2 losers?

p.s. You are also correct…I should never have said "Good luck in salvaging your season"…I should have just been honest and said..Your season is over and good luck next year. :'( :'( :'(

p.s.s. I also guess our butt whipping of you guys, just goes to prove that you were not the co-champs of the Sunbelt. Troy is still the team to beat, but I guess that is nothing new, after all they are the Real Sunbelt Champs.
