Re: Nebraska vs. Florida Atlantic
You look at the BCS bowl teams last year and thier QB situation you will find a strong correlation between experience and sucess.
We might now win, but having a 4 year starter as our QB compared to what they have is usually the recipe for an upset. People that thought we were going to beat Texas last year were out of thier minds. This Nebraska game is totally different, Rusty wont be nervous for this one.
Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

I'd say we have a much better chance against Neb. than we did against Texas, but still not a garuntee. Any team can beat any other team on a saturday, but it would be a HUGE accomplishment if we beat any of our OOC opponents. With that said, GO OWLS!
I agree with Duder! We had 250 plus yards against Texas and we blew many great opportunities in the RED zone! The game definitely got away from us and I do believe that it will be a different story against Nebraska! They are not even close to being as good as Texas!
GO OWLS!

Granted, this was a few years ago when Nebraska was a machine, but that place (Memorial Stadium) was loud and proud. Every single fan (and the stadium is always sold out, no matter who comes to play) wears red. They let loose thousands of ballons before the game. They have a jumbotron like those at Dolphin Stadium and play an awesome game intro which switches to a live view of the team queing up in the hall behind the hallowed stadium mdoors, which swing open to a huge ovation.
The stadium is old but very impressive and gets very loud (although Georgia has the loudest stadium I have ever experienced, propbaboly because it was homecoming and Troy was winning).
Go to this game if you can. There are usually good fares to Omaha via Southwest Airlines. The people of Lincoln (an hour or so west of Omaha and maybe the size of Tallahassee) are extremely friendly. But be knowledgable about your team because people on the street will ask specific querstions about your second string right guard. Seriously.
There is a restaurant downtown that serves a type of chicken ball thing called ostridge egs or dinosaur eggs (too many beers to remember). There are delicious.
Stay at the Marriott or Holiday Inn down down a few blocks from the stadium. You will not need a car and tailgate parties and bar events are everywhere on the days before a game.
If you can spend some time in Omaha (pretty big city), do so. The downtown entertainment area is nice, as is the baseball stadium (College World Series site), new arena, etc. Just to the east, across the Missouri River (over the bridge from downtown) are the casinos, including Harrah's (had to kill some time waiting for lost luggage).

Forgot to mention that Omaha has the 2nd best zoo in the country and is located next to the baseball stadium.OwlShooter said
I've been to Nebraska twice for games (versus Troy). In one of them, the Trojans gave them a game until late.

Bars in Omaha close around 1:00am, so people drive 10 min to Iowa because the bars there close around 2:00am
LOL!!!!
I am not going to Linconl; I might go to South Carolina.
I hope we can beat a big team this year and win the sunbelt or go to a bowl.
We'll see what happens.
