Looking at the big picture you have to be rooting for FIU except for against us (obviously).  The more exposure for FAU, FIU and UCF the better.

In my mind the best case scenario would be for the Big East to stay intact and pick up UCF, FAU and FIU.  That would put 4 teams from Florida in the same conference and bring teams from the North East to play down here where so many people are originally from the North East rivalries would exist instantly.  Also, the road games vs. FIU, UCF and USF would be easy to get to making the season more fun.

I truly believe this is a possibility.  The television markets and the rate that FIU, UCF and FAU have been and continue to grow justifies this.  All 3 schools are at 30,000 students and over and now all have on campus stadiums.  I believe UCF and FIU would be in the top half of the SEC as far as student enrollment…they are HUGE schools.

I understand that as it stands at this very moment it doesn't seem like a draw to put us on TV.  BUT, you put us in the Big East and let us play Rutgers, West Virginia, Cincinatti, Pitt, etc at home with a coach like Mike Leach…lookout.  The ENTIRE complexion of our program would change instantly.

Problem is, I think USF would be against any of us getting in.  They know it gives them a competitive advantage.  However, the rivalries it would build and the sellouts that would be a result of the move (remember USF vs. FAU at Lockhart?) would make it worth it for everybody.

I really wish the Big East commisioner would give me 10 minutes to pitch this to him  ;D

Not just FIU, but all of the SBC. The more games our conference mates win, the better our conference looks. We have surpassed the WAC and about even with the MAC, so the more OOC games we can win as a league, the better we will be to pass them. The SBC is improving every year, need to keep it up and get us back in the game to help out.

As much as it pains me to root for the Kitties, it is best for us all.

I was rooting for Louisville and was sorry they lost. And I'll be rooting for UCF this week. I can't stand FIU and Will NEVER root for em. Can't stand the… "FAU rivalry…what rivalry? Our rivalry is with the U across town." attitude. I don't care if they were to play Alabama and win…even if it made the Sun Belt look good…I can't stanz 'em! >:(

But at least if FIU wins this, they will lose Critobal before the bowl season - a good thing to me! And sanctions are gonna hit UCF pretty soon so I guess I have to pull for FIU. :-[

Agreed.  Sorry, I can't root for them, and I wouldn't ecxpect them to root for us.  I hope they lose by 4 TDs on Saturday.  Go Knights!  :D
