New C-USA TV deal

I don't necessarily know if FAU-FIU is a package deal anymore when you look at the trajectory of the Athletic Departments. Our name was being thrown around as a potential AAC program without a single mention of FIU and I think we're the more attractive of the two because we don't share a media market/ fanbase with a bigger program just a short ride away

That's what we thought before CUSA picked FIU without any thought of taking us. It makes sense that we go together if possible.

We really need each other as much as we hate to think that. If we think we are that far ahead of them or if they think they are that far ahead of us, we are all delusional.

I hope the academic center can become a reality. It would be amazing for our program.

I think we could be the better option for moving up is because we are spending money not only on athletic facilities but improving facilities around campus. Yet there is a long way to go before I see us moving up to a newer conference.  Like Mark said the athletic center and practice facility need to become a reality, a new basketball facility improvement to our baseball facility, to start with. I think also we have to serioiusly start probably renovating our buildings on campus too. But that is my honest opinoin.

I took a walk on campus on the day of the spring game and noticed the breezeway isn't all leaky any more so maybe that's a start?

Another lost tradition!  :Big-Grin:

That thing has been leaking for 25 years.

But seriously, I saw some pics of the breezeway and it looked so much better.

It still leaks, just not as much

As for TV money, after the SEC, ACC. Big 12, Pac 12, Big 10 and Notre Dame leave the table,  the rest of Division 1 teams are left scrambling for the crumbs.  Either be the best in your conference and beat some teams in the ones above, or remain 2nd tier.

My crystal ball tells me in the next few years, we rise to dominance in CUSA,  play in a full stadium,  then go knocking on the door of the ACC

If that happens then I'll probably whine about traffic to and from games!

You mean AAC, right?

And with the new exit ramp north of Glades, I'm sure traffic to campus won't be so bad on game day. In case you were referring to Miami's traffic fiasco, you gotta remember the game was on a Friday evening.

It has gone from it original completion date of September 2016 to "Early 2017" (it went there a couple days after construction started), and is now "Summer 2017."

No, I mean the ACC, I see a move to the AAC as lateral at best…

As far as traffic, the Miami game was a fiasco.  Even though the school knew it was a sell out, they were less than prepared.  The parking staff seemed clueless where to direct traffic.  I had to drive between two buildings and through a field to park and I had a parking pass! Local police should have been contracted to direct traffic at key intersections and the construction on Spanish River Blvd compounded issues.  Glades roads on weekdays is a pain and that's not going to change any time soon.
