Judy Macleod, Conf USA commissioner quietly announced our amazing new tv/media deal earlier this week. If building our brand and achieving national exposure is our goal then CUSA is taking us in the opposite direction. Honestly I'm starting to think we quite possibly may have been better off staying in the Sunbelt now. The new deal has conf championship games in every sport being aired on CBS Sports Channel, so now basically no one will be watching or able to even find them. Also the new deal will have Stadium to continue airing games as well again on their streaming channel and their facebook platform, joy. Apparently it does give a couple hundred grand more to each school, so theres that. Not sure if there is still anything in the works to possibly sell off any remaining inventory of games to ESPN or not, or if thats even a possibility.
I know we aren't the most desired conference right now but dang, this is about as lame as it can get without having any media deal at all. Everything this latest conference usa administration has touched from the basketball conf tourney to this media deal just seems extremely small time. Starting to think they may be in a little over their head and out of their league as this conference just continues to lose all respect in so many aspects and they just accept anything as acceptable and try to convince the conference members its a good thing.
