FAUOwls44, you are right on the money with the previous post, as well as the earlier mention of Valdosta State. I do remember that nightmare, when everyone (coaches, too) was overly confident. What happened? A fast, well-coached, lower-division team hung a major home-field embarrassment on FAU. As I recall, we had a terrible time trying to cover short kicks, defend passes over the middle and other things. In any case, regardless of details, we got out tails kicked. Perhaps the Owls should be required to watch that film – so the fans don't have to watch a repeat of that dismal game performance. Texas? No way, no how. UAB? Should be a win. But it's far from automatic.

I don't think the Owls were overconfident going into the Texas game, they were just beaten by a more talented team.

there sure were a lot of overconfident fans though…hopefully it brought them back too. there are still people talking about 11-1 and a top 25 rankings being possible! It's possible for me to still become a doctor or date an 18 year old hot co-ed, it ain't gonna happen but it's possible!

FAUOwls44, I didn't suggest and do not believe the Owls were overconfident going to Austin. Rather, I suggested that I hope they won't be overconfident this Saturday when UAB comes to Lockhart. Sorry if I was not clear. The bottom line is that I hope very much that FAU wins, and wins big.

I don't think people are upset because we lost to Texas. People are upset by how we lost. Turnovers in the red zone, poor tackling, cheap shots, and basically throwing in the towel. Had we walked away witha 52-28 loss it would be a different story.
