That's not good when your TE is faster than you are

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: NFL Combine Live on NFL Network

I think Jean has long distance break away speed, He'll burn you running down the field not in a short distance. Overall I'd say Jean and JVC haven't been too impressive and would be surprised if they were drafted. Housler has definitely made a name for himself and I think he can go round 3, round 4 the latest

Re: NFL Combine Live on NFL Network

I watched the whole thing, then passed out because I worked last night. My impression? I thought JVC did really well, especially in front of the backdrop of all the Cam Newton attention. He made some nice throws, seemed very composed. I also watched to see how the other combine qbs and wo's and the guys that run the drills acted around him. I think he garnered some positive attention.

The 40 time makes me laugh, JVC is a big guy. He looked much bigger physically than a lot of the other qbs. And I disagree with some blogger who commented that he looked like Tony Pike 2.0, JVC has an athletic build, he's not rail thin or fragile looking. I can see him putting on a plate or two of muscle in the next couple of years. Thats why the 40 time is laughable. He was in the top 10, and he is a bigger, lankier guy.

I did feel bad for Jean. I think he really could have done much better, but I think nerves got the best of him. His 40 could have been much better, but he had trouble on his first run and I think that got in his head. He really looked like he was attacking the gauntlet drill, but again he muffed the second or third catch and that seemed to hang him up mentally. The good news for Jean? I noticed a lot of 6'5 guys that posted impressive times and numbers, who looked well developed up in the torso, but had toothpick legs. I had flashbacks of Yatil Green, Lamar Thomas, and David Boston. Lestar looks physically solid head to toe. I think he can be that tough, physical receiver in the style of a Michael Irvin.

Beware the talons of the Mighty Owls!
