Illinoisowl,
Are you heading down to MTSU this year?

I am seriously considering it. It will be the closest game this year. 6 1/2 drive. I would have gone to KSU, but I had to work. Kinda glad it turned out that way.

I would assume if you are still at SIU next year you will be going to Lexington for the Kentucky game.

What i'm concerned about though is what i've read on the FIU board. The MTSU fans got really disgusting towards the visiting FIU fans. Names, profanity, etc. My wife will be with me. I guarantee, if she has to go through that, that will be the last football game she'll ever go to, period. I'm not sure I want to be in the middle of that.

The games we went to up here at EIU and ISU, no problem.

No, ISU is in no way as good as us! Nobody seems to note that KSU's star running back Thomas Clayton was out in the game versus ISU. If he had been there the score versus ISU would have been nowhere near what it was.

I am starting to think that coach is using these games as a practice and not try an win. That has to kill their morale thinking about what could have been if they tried to win. I hope he lets them loose when it comes time for the conference games.

ISU didn't have to worry about K-State's star RB…as Ingbrbr pointed about.

A question answered with a question:

Is K-State a better team with their starting RB in the rotation? If yes, then look at the probable scores of both games.

Thomas Clayton is extremely overrated. Look at his stats from last year - not very good. He is an athletic back, but has poor field vision and very poor balance.

That being said, having him back didn't hurt any, but don't pretend it made a huge difference.

Illinoisowl,
I was at MTSU a few years ago and the fans were great. I didn't have any problems. Hopefully they just have problem with FIU fans and not FAU fans. GO OWLS!!!

Last I checked ISU put up 23 on the K-State defense and FAU didn't score any points. As far as I know K-States running back doesn't play defense. Something to think about. GO OWLS!!!

Strictly speaking about the RB being absent. If he's in the game, then ISU don't have the ball as much and K St control the ball longer. Therefore ISU may not have put up that many points either.

Good point O.G. I still don't agree that one player makes the difference between 54-0 and 24-23. ISU has an offense, and I think we can all agree that FAU does not. At least not from what we have seen so far this season. GO OWLS!!!

We definitely can agree on the lack of offense by FAU. It has been non-existent.

Have you check out ISU's roster with all those Fla boys. Again!!!!
