Observations- UCF game

Post

FAU  has regressed, and this game showed that we are light years away from ever being on the national stage. We are the Mets of college football, we always lose and get embarrassed on prime time national TV games.  In my lifetime that’s a given with FAU football. UCF fans took over our stadium, simply embarrassing. They did their chants and concert phone light effect which  was just as aggravating.  I heard some vendors ran out of food and everything was cash only all of a sudden.  It was a poor planning on FAU’s part facilities wise and the game was terrible.  Gabriel looked great even though he was a freshman, I think we game planned for Wimbush and he never started and it all went downhill from there.  Kiffin has a lot of issues and 3 names made him look like a genius… Briles, Chris Kiffin, and Motor.  These people really made huge strides for our program. I think Weiss was a bad pick for OC,  we can’t score at will and struggle to move the ball, it’s like the play calls are predictable. Deandre Johnson should’ve been our QB, his game speed was better and play making ability was better.  Kiffin made both of these dedications and it’s now hurting us.  I have been to many FAU games, the good and the really bad.  This showing or lack of effort was worse than the OU game last year.  I’m done telling people to watch us and looking like a fool with these body bag games.  I think this Ball st. Game dictates our season.  It’s like we are not playing to our potential.  One thing I noticed the over/under was 69, Ucf tried not to score and all of a sudden the game is called quickly because of lightning. The line jumped from -11 to -13, this is fishy…something  happened. I feel we gave up,  and gave up early. The game was out of reach way too early and fast. If things don’t get better we need to make changes.  We need better marketing,  we need chants and we need gimmicks to keep fans entertained. What did you get from this game?  How do we fix the game-day experience?  What should be fixed to get better?

You made excellent points. Unfortunately it's an emotional reaction to two bad losses. It's great to have confidence in your team as many of you all did with your predictions - but deep down inside, I think many knew this could go backwards pretty quickly.

Kiffin is not an elite coach, but he's definitely better than many of the alternatives out there. Sometimes football teams are simply out matched. I tried to explain that we had 6 really good RB's that were going to get cycled and that is extremely difficult to overcome. It's honestly unfair to expect a win when there is a bunch of positions at UCF we are deep in and can keep a ton of fresh legs in. Your QB had several impressive plays and that's after he was running for his life the whole night. Your RB also showed flashes of greatness.

Building a program takes time, and Kiffin may or may not be the guy that does it - but based on what I saw, you guys should be fine in CUSA play. Just my two cents.

I'm not going  to analyze  this loss other than to say FAU and UCFare not at the same level. Total donination. I want to look at the good things. C.R  looks so much better. Given time,  hopefully against lesser teams, he will put up big numbers.  Rivas, like a different player (yes. I know he shanked one). My biggest concern….our d.  I'm going to move on to the next game. As for UCF, at the end of the year , they will be a top ten team. Not final four. But easily top ten. Remember, they are doing this without Milton

@faufan300….you mentioned three names . You forgot two very important names. First, Charlie cartridge.kiffin won 11 games with his team . Two, garin  justice. We let one of the top young ol  coaches walk when could have gotten him back. This is my last post about osu and UCF.  Let's see how we do against  a smaller team like Ball state.

My thoughts on last nights game:

- FAU’s o line is very concerning. Letting Garin Justice go is by far Lane’s worst move as a coach here. If the play doesn’t get better it’s going to be a very long year.
- Defense didn’t play bad, just was on the field to much and was asked to do way to much.
- Chris didn’t play bad. He was plagued by dropped passes, and having no time to throw the ball
- The season is on the line next week. Lane has to get things going in the right direction. He has made a lot questionable decisions on the coaching staff, and they are t working out the past two years.
- One last note about the game experience. How was FAU so unprepared for last night? We have been bragging for weeks how close the game was to sell out. I snuck In past the long lines, and my ticket was never scanned. 30 mins to get a drink, and how does the whole stadium run outta food? Total embarrassment. Why would any fringe fan wanna comeback after an experience like that.

Grain left to Arizona himself.
Did he have a chance to come back who knows.

I have a larger post in mind about this subject, but bringing coaches and mostly players that don’t work out has been Lanes biggest issue so far.

He left on his own to begin with.

So what he comes back just to bounce to a better job the next time another comes around?

Eventually you would have won without him.
